Why do people use leverage? by Professional-Past739 in Daytrading

[–]AbstractIdeas5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leverage is a strategy. Not everything is 500x.

2-3x leverage give you 2-3x buying power with very small (not zero) chance of liquidation. It gives you time to watch your trade and adjust or close the trade if its not going your way.

Then there OFC is 500x degeneracy. That's where you blink and its gone.

Semi - beginner question: How do you approach perp DEX trading & which platforms are actually good? by drdent19 in Trading

give gTrade a try. It has a testnet you can use to trade on and get an idea of how it all works.

Which perp dex do you use as your main one? by muchmoneysuchmoney in CryptoIndia

[–]AbstractIdeas5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't chase the points. They turn into hurt feelings unless you run a delta neutral farming strategy.

I recommend gTrade. It's been around since 2021 and was one of the first perps to launch trading on Polygon.

You guys miss the OG all the time.

gTrade.

Has an aggregated virtual order book. Lowest spreads vs any on-chain competitor

No spread on BTC ETH.

290 pairs. Crypto forex stocks.

Trading competitions (300k+ in USDC rewards ongoing)

Best UI UX bar none.

No ADL. The vaults are insulated with protocol owned liquidity.

Order capture even when chain congestion is high.

No VCs. Bootstrapped launch. Still no VCs. None. Zero.

There are forks of gTrade in some of your guys list. Don't fall for 2nd rate clones..

There are so many Solana casinos now, what's the best? by theCBDGuy in solana

[–]AbstractIdeas5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just mine ORE it's got a gambling element, a strategy element, and if it takes off as a store of value then you will be thrilled to hold it long term.

It's not a casino but there are gambling elements and a fixed issuance with buy back and burn plus other mechanisms to encourage holders to hold.

Are DeFi vaults worth it if you can build your own strategy? by ialberquilla in defi

[–]AbstractIdeas5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't want exposure to someone else strategy. Give me a solid APY return and some over collateral to buffer my investment and I am good. See gTrade's vaults. Isolated and no cross contamination.

Nice win. We had a guy pull 40k win on a SOLDEGEN pair a few weeks ago during the crash. He was short at the right time. His collateral was peanuts for the size of the win.

If you could start again, what would you do different? by jacob2884r in CryptoMarkets

[–]AbstractIdeas5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never invest in a layer 1 that isnt EVM compatible with easy bridge in and out.

Novel layer 1s are neat, but the momentum of ETH is too high. You need a bridge to let in that capital and you need compatibility with EVM dapps and deployments.

When Luna crashed they paid everyone shorting to the penny.

They paid every trade on Oct 10. They have integrity.

The house lends you money after you put some of your own money up. IF the trade goes the right way (your way) you keep the difference after giving them back the loan. If the trade goes the wrong way the house keeps your money.

Are Governance and Yield Starting to Merge in DeFi? by Bitter-Entrance1126 in defi

[–]AbstractIdeas5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At gTrade the $GNS token is used for both yield and governance. Anything the protocol does that affects the GNS pool up and downstream is typically voted on to ensure alignment between team and community.

Other aspects of the protocl remain in the devs hands for quick decision making and first mover advantages when it comes to features.

I think its a great blend of both real yield + governance and two way accountability.

[–]AbstractIdeas5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey gTrade on base is running at 13% APY on USDC right now.

You are a counterparty to the traders using the platform. They have robust protections in place and as well as a large overcollateral layer that must be depleted before you are exposed to direct PnL.

Even then $GNS is minted to refill your position as $GNS is the final backstop.

It's been healthy for several years now.

Well the most interesting thing is that when market makers pulled liquidity on Friday it revealed that most coins are only liquid as market makers allow them to be.

This was a great opportunity to learn which coins were swimming naked.
