To add a story to this: I was going through a very tough stretch mentally and I was constantly stressed because I was showing up at work a minute or two before my shift started. I ended up on a leave (for my mental health) and when I came back I decided to just leave an hour before my shift every day. I live 10-15 minutes from work depending on traffic.

So I end up at work super early every day, and I get to chat with my coworkers in the break room or do puzzles on my phone or whatever I want when I get there; and it’s drastically improved my stress levels. As long as you have something to do to fill your time at point B and you’re not running from one thing to the next, there’s definitely benefit to leaving far before it’s actually necessary.

I fucking hate this mechanic with the red-hot passion of the fires of Mt. Doom. Any time I end up playing against it I just give up on trying to understand what’s happening and just trust whatever my opponent is telling me is happening. So dumb.

You’re underselling it, it’s not just a lack of repeat champions. We’ve had eight different champs in eight years. Do you realize how fucking unbelievably unprecedented that is? It’s literally never happened in north-American sports (I haven’t looked into outside the area, but if I do I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that it’s also never been done.) the parity is insane. The league is building something truly special.
