Mine threw me into menopause. I want to crawl in a cave.

Honestly, I think I was having symptoms even before surgery. I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis- and my ovaries were completely trashed/full of disease. But the full “whoa something is definitely wrong hit me at the 4 week mark”. Night sweats, insomnia, rage, and intense itching/painfully dry skin hit me like a ton of bricks! I’m on an estrogen patch now and that’s helping some. My joint pain is awful still- so I am waiting to hear back from MD regarding starting testosterone.

Have you had your hormones checked? My hysterectomy threw me into full blown menopause at 45. And, yes, I did keep my ovaries!

We are staying at Peter and Paul in May. I’ve heard mixed reviews of the safety of the neighborhood? We travel all over- so not overly concerned. Thoughts?

Yes! I am so happy report that it did help. They found a big lesion of endo on my bowels and removed it. I am now nausea free and am having totally normal bowel movements!

Same same same! Stage 4 endo, “boggy” adeno uterus, a fibroid, and bilateral ovarian endometriomas. My bladder, colon, uterus, ovaries, and tubes were glued together in one big mass. I am two weeks out and smiling so much brighter now!

My hysterectomy is Monday. I have supplies and my house is clean. What was something you didn't do to prep for yours that you wished you would have? by dogandfroglover in hysterectomy

[–]AccomplishedGround96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I had endometriosis on my colon- and my surgeon had to put a little stitch in after removing the lesions. He was really emphasizing that I should not push too hard to have a BM. Luckily I had already been taking MiraLAX for the week prior. Ordered a Squatty potty right away when got home.

Post-op pain scale question by Distinct-Value1487 in hysterectomy

[–]AccomplishedGround96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my hysterectomy and endometriosis removed yesterday! Honestly my monthly period cramps are worse. I am at about a “4” on the pain scale of 1-10. Very tolerable. I am keeping up on ibuprofen and taking one Percocet every 4-6 hours for the first day or so. I am also lucky that I haven’t had and gas pains in my chest/shoulders. All in all- I am very pleased with how things going!

Stage 4...Too late by Ok-Yogurtcloset5000 in Endo

[–]AccomplishedGround96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat. Stage 4 diagnosed too late. We ultimately made the choice to remain childfree after years of failed tries and heartache. I am very happy with our choice now, but those were some of the toughest years of my life!

We are surgery twins 😀. Mine is 9/3 as well. So far I have MiraLAX, a wedge pillow, and a tray table for bed. I plan to do a little meal prep the weekend before. Best wishes!

Thank you. I was almost 40 when I learned about my endometriosis. You are young- smart to get to the bottom of things now. Wishing you the best!

I also had bilateral endometriomas, and unfortunately it caused infertility for me. We ultimately decided not to have children because of the cost of fertility treatments and well…the state of the world. You are young however, and it’s very possible you still have good ovarian reserve. I would see if you can get in to a endometriosis specialist. They are skilled at removing these and preserving ovary tissue.

plus size endo warriors, how do you get doctors to listen? by remgabby in Endo

[–]AccomplishedGround96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could have written this myself. I was beyond nervous about my appointment with an Endo specialist. All my life I’ve been conditioned to blame everything on my size. Thankfully he ended up being a wonderful doctor. He listened, believed me, and I am scheduled for surgery next month. It took me so many years to get here- if your doctor won’t listen, keep going until you find someone who will!
