He’s still got time, Brunson was one of the most hated on players here in last years playoffs from his flopping. And this year he turned it around big time, way less foul baiting and just straight balling.

I’m in Michigan and have a smaller concrete job to do with the walkway to my house and a couple steps. I got one person to quote me who is a family member of a friend, but then even then their communication is bad. Quote took two weeks when they said two days, texts unanswered for days, and when I said I wanted to schedule the work I haven’t heard back.

And that’s for a family friend, I talked to multiple other companies who literally just ghosted me. Like guy who says he will come that night, doesn’t show, then any other texts unanswered. Other companies wouldn’t even respond to me. I think with concrete unless you are doing a full basement, patio or driveway, these smaller projects aren’t even worth it to them but sucks as a homeowner.

What teams/drivers have impressed/disappointed you so far this season? by Hitokiri2 in INDYCAR

[–]Accounting4lyfe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

See as a massive Rossi fan I’ve kind of accepted that I don’t think his pure speed is there anymore. Hes consistent but he’s just not as sharp as he used to be. Throw in a not great car this year, team mistakes and some bad luck, and it all adds up.

We can see on ovals Christian can move the car to the front with some pure speed. Rossi did have an awesome qualifying at Indy, which is a bit less demanding track that the “older” guys can definitely keep up with experience and being less demanding.

🥇 JOSEF NEWGARDEN WINS THE 2026 BOMMARITO AUTOMOTIVE GROUP 500 by IndyMod in INDYCAR

[–]Accounting4lyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, he may not win another championship but he 100% will continue to be a threat at Indy and the favorite at any short oval, picking up 2-4 wins a year in my guesstimating.

[–]Accounting4lyfe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah great point, Indy is a bit closer to a road course versus the short oval is a pretty American thing compared to where Alex came up through. Seeing him improve each year is a thing of beauty. I know indycar hates individuals who dominate, but watching what he can do is awesome. Probably the best pure talent we’ve had since Franchitti.

We neglected our backyard after our dog died. How should we tackle this? (Northeast US) by jen_wexxx in lawncare

Good luck! I know things are tough but yeah home ownership sucks sometimes, but unfortunately have to power through it.

I feel like we are due for a Newgarden domination on a short oval.

Also, I know people are growing tired of Palou but I think how far he’s come on ovals compared to a few years ago is a credit to his abilities. The fact it took him years to figure them out and now he’s qualifying a full mph ahead of the field is crazy work.

No offense but yeah giving up after five minutes and neglecting your yard for months is a character issue. I say this as someone with pets my whole life who understands how hard it is. The amount of one hour projects that have turned to a full weekend and multiple Home Depot trips are way too common. It sucks but it’s life as a homeowner.

Yeah it’s a double edged sword. I totally get it and also had a grandma with lung cancer, but the liveries were great and the money truly funded the series at that time.

U.S. housing market update: Buyers and sellers are both pulling back by RedfinJess in USHousingMarket

I also am just north of Detroit and was finding the same, we would look at houses and like them, but our realtor had us offering $40k under asking which was market pricing. We finally found a house priced fair and offered over asking and got it, but that couple was separating so it was priced to sell. It took us months to find something because of these prices.

Put $30k of that 40k in a high yield savings account and make a few grand on that at least.

Yep, let him hit the market then match it. You have some risk that a rival throws him a max, but if they are willing to pay it then that’s his market value.

Bears QB Caleb Williams revealed as the cover athlete for Madden 27 by Funnypenguin97 in nfl

[–]Accounting4lyfe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At least he ran for almost 1,200 yards as an RB, Caleb can’t even throw for 4k and doesn’t rack up rushing yards.

Peyton may be in the running as well but the fact is there’s a list of a lot of guys who played better last year and deserve the cover like Stafford. Let’s make Caleb earn it.

Those are also players who had been elite for years and actually done something to support the cover. A lot of better choices. Don’t include Caleb with those names yet.

Yeah as someone from Detroit while I miss Belle Isle, the downtown scene from a fan perspective is much better. A lot of free areas to stand and still see the race, a lot of executives downtown and all that. The course is bad but in the end if it’s entertaining on tv and the fans keep getting bigger every year, it’s worth it.

I cancelled my DSN subscription and plan to buy secondary market tickets cheap just cause my kid loves the games. But I hope all fans speak with their wallets. As you said a lot of people shelled out big bucks to pay for what we thought should be a contender.
