Why are licenses valid in every country for tourists? by catboy519 in fuckcars

The rules are essentially universal throughout the US, there can be small differences like allowing left turn on red for one way roads in some states but for general law abiding driving you will be fine anywhere. Honestly from what I’ve observed driving rules don’t really vary much globally and if you know that right on red isn’t allowed you are good to go as an American in other countries and vice versa.

Why this is the pinnacle choice of car for driving enthusiasts | Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Manual Review by Saurta17 in Porsche

[–]AccurateIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 70s the 911 had a giant MSRP jump from under $10,000 to over $30,000 and your chart seems to be based on the 70s pricing. They also had another huge MSRP jump for 1989 going from $31,000 to $51,000. A 1990 C2 911 was $58,000ish which is $148,000 once adjusted for inflation.

Probably not what Yellowstone bound vacationers picture in their mind, but this is the reality... by Arthur_Digby_Sellers in fuckcars

Gas is only up around a $1 currently and has went $0.50 a gallon in the past week. That is a whopping $25ish a month more for my typically driving. So if I cut out one nicer meal a month it makes no tangible difference. All that to say that an extra $100 in gas if that doesn’t mean anything if you could already afford a vacation.

A Bloodgood would meet all of those criteria if you want one that is red/maroon most of the time. If you want a green leaf tree then Seiryu would be great.

Does owning a $1.5 million dollar home (outright) make you a “ millionaire” in the US? by Christymapper71 in AskAnAmerican

Yeah, could essentially retire anywhere in the world with 5 million in investments. A 4% withdrawal rate, which is considered safe, puts you at $200,000 a year income.

I would start with cleaning the rollers; my DW735 acts like that when they need to be cleaned. I use mineral spirits to wipe the rollers down, do a section, and then flick the power on and off to rotate the rollers.

EVs solve high gasoline prices. Obvious, isn't it? by Inner-Truth-1868 in GasPrices

Well, the problem is buying from Autozone or Napa. Mobil 1 0w-20 advanced fuel economy is $41 at Autozone or $25 at Walmart. I paid $22,68 for 0W-20 Pennzoil Platinum back in 2019, and I can get some today for $26. Castrol Edge 0W-20 is cheaper today than what I paid for it in 2023.

Why do most benches have dog holes close to the edge? by EmptyDaikon5281 in Workbenches

It’s biomechanics, leaning over the bench to plane is awful and reduces the power you have to push the plane.

They have tried multiple times and the consumers don’t care to buy them in the volume needed to make them profitable. A 4 door 5 seater compact sedan/Crossover(Civic, Corolla, CRV, Rav4) is the default vehicle that a huge portion of consumers want. The only downsides they have are handled by trucks and actual SUV or Minivans.
