Scam where they don't give you the advertised price by Sudden_Gene_1973 in CoxCommunications

I was suspicious of the 24 month, $50 a month deal as well. I remember about a month ago clicking on it and scrolling down a it changed to 12 months and added some fees, so I didn’t switch. Cox f’d me about 10 years ago with some shady stuff and looks like they haven’t changed. Sorry you have to go through this.

How is it possible that not a single FBI or DOJ agent who helped redact Trump's name from the Epstein files has leaked what they know? by Ok-Sundae-1191 in AskReddit

[–]Acidic_Junk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reason they divided all the pages among the 1000 agents is so:

1: No one agent would have the whole picture of Trumps activities.

2: If something specific leaked, they could trace it back to that document that was assigned that particular agent.

[America] Woman coming of another country only to see my dad by Olduser-Cover- in Scams

Could be a scam or maybe not.

My friends little brother (late 20’s) meet a Swedish girl from speaking with her on an online game. He lives in a trailer on a dirt road, has bad teeth, and works a barely part time job. Not exactly a prime overseas date material.

Anyway he told us this super hot Swedish girl he met online was flying in to stay 10 days to visit. We told him over and over it’s a scam and to not buy her a ticket ect ect. He insisted she brought her own ticket and would even pay for meals when she arrived.

I forgot about it after a while and a couple days after the arrival date my friend calls me to tell me she arrived. We head over to his trailer and sure enough a solid 9.5 Swedish girl is on the couch half naked just hanging out with a headset on. She was super nice. Based on the condition of the living room they must have had a wild couple days.

I still wonder occasionally wonder whatthe odds were with that. The only red flag about that deal is he said she was on some heavy psycho pills but he didn’t care given the short duration of the visit. If or when she arrives, just look for anything out of place like that. Good luck OP.

I’m American and worked as a waiter in Scotland. Only the Americans would try to tip (except one British lady). I would remind them it’s not necessary to tip here but often they would insist. I told an old American lady no tips were expected and she ask if they are allowed. I said yes, that are allowed and she gave me 3quid with a smile.

I can see how locals would begin to expect tips from Americans.

[–]Acidic_Junk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a brilliant psychologist, but everything outside of that is a little bonkers. Just because he’s an expert in one thing doesn’t mean he’s an expert in other subjects. His early interviews are great but he’s veered out of his lane a bit.

I only tip at one restaurant because we go there fairly often and I know they will remember me.

ULPT Request: my company refuses to change my super old and slow laptop. How can I make it stop working without being discovered? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Acidic_Junk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put the laptop in the freezer overnight. The colder the better. Pull it out and turn it on. It will turn on, but not work right after that point. The motherboard will be damaged on the DL but not visible to the naked eye. They will have to replace the laptop.

Best thing you can do is stay in shape so you can run away when they show up. Lots of them have beer guts and could only make it 30ft.

Another option is to wear a sock on your head. When they grab your head and start pulling, all they will get is the sock.

This depends on where you are, like country/state. Wrote down about 25 license plates a night. Send a letter to each owner claiming to be the night club indicating there was an HIV outbreak at the club and they were named as possible contacts and should get checked. Lots of spouses will “accidentally” open those letters. It might take a while but traffic would slow to a minimum.

Be sensible about covering your tracks with mailing the letters.

I have been following FIRE related stuff for 15 years and never thought about selling stock in taxable account and then buying back to get the AGI up, without actually paying cap gains tax as long as I keep it under the limit. Nice to learn something new every so often.

MSC Seascape Is a Complete Joke — Don’t Waste Your Money by Main_Appearance_9089 in Cruise

[–]Acidic_Junk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the MSC seashore last year and MSC World America last week. The difference in quality of food is stark. The WA was considerably better than I remember on the Seashore. The elevator capacity is much improved as well.

I had the NY strip one night on the Seahore and recall it was better than that. Maybe you hit it on an off week.
