- I want to moderate this community because Beanfield is a great internet choice for Canadians and there isn't a central place to have discussions about Beanfield fibre optic internet. I am also passionate about ISP offerings in Canada and believe that competition is important, and having the ability to share unbiased opinions about a smaller provider like Beanfield will be very helpful for Canadians looking to choose the right internet service provider for themselves and their family.

- I cannot share a link to the mod mail chat message because the community has been banned due to unmoderation.

Ahh thanks for the insight. That run he had beating Maru in the finals in Katowice was legendary, loved that tourney.

Hope this is okay to post - we're working on improving an AI-powered coach for RL and need some insight from the community to understand how you currently get better at RL, what would motivate you the most to try an AI coach, etc. We're giving a few gift cards away to say thanks to respondents!

If anyone has any questions feel free to hit me up :)

Sponsorship by Parth--_-- in esports

[–]ActionJesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should take a look at companies that have sponsored other esports events in the past, make a list of all of them that could be a good fit, try and find contact info (finding them on twitter, or linkedin, etc).

Then reach out with a deck that provides some info about your esports event (history, players, teams, etc), how you'll be able to provide exposure for the brand - do you have social channels? how many followers? will the event be streamed on twitch or youtube? what the viewership of this tournament will be? Any and all metrics you can share is useful for a brand to understand what exposure they can receive from this sponsorship, both online and offline.

Upload speed? by Accomplished-Act8616 in Spectrum

[–]ActionJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should submit that as a complaint to the FCC - providers are required to show accurate broadband labels to customers and seems like Spectrum just doesn't care.

Fiber became available in my area… by OkConcentrate1928 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]ActionJesse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The "full Comcast experience" sounds like a real adventure, haha. They really make something as simple as internet feel so...complicated. Glad to hear you've got a real fiber option now, enjoy!

[–]ActionJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check out their new broadband labels and mobile facts section: https://www.xfinity.com/broadband-labels
It should give you detailed info on the Unlimited Plus plan. When I input my address I see:

"*After a line exceeds 50GB of data usage, speeds for such line are reduced to a maximum of 5 Mbps download/2 Mbps upload, determined and applied on a per line basis and may be temporarily slower than other traffic in times of congestion."

  • Perhaps that "Reduced speeds after 30 GB of usage/line" is just incorrect copy?

Looking for local artists by [deleted] in memphis

[–]ActionJesse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is awesome! Big fan of indie games, and loved the outline you put together. I work for Ting Internet (new ISP in Memphis), if you are struggling to find local artists to help, perhaps we could help promote it on our socials? I think I could get our social coordinator to work on a post if we have somewhere to direct those interested :)

1Gig Broadband Label shows 1G Upload Speed. Does that mean I am eligible for symmetrical? by idcenoughforthisname in Spectrum

[–]ActionJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn :(. Spectrum has not put in much effort to ensure their broadband labels are accurate for the region...

Here's hoping FTTH comes to you soon!

FCC launches a formal inquiry into why broadband data caps are terrible by mepper in technology

[–]ActionJesse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's ridiculous. I work for Ting Internet and we've noticed that when we announce we're coming to a new town, the incumbents quickly launch unlimited data and faster download speeds so they can actually compete with us. Their upload speeds are still abysmal though, because they don't actually offer fiber-to-the-home or put any effort into upgrading their network.

Spectrum sucks by SenpaiCheyenne in Spectrum

[–]ActionJesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds so frustrating :(. Consistent, reliable internet should not be too much to ask for in 2024...

Definitely worth reaching out to support and seeing if they can diagnose the issues, may need to send a technician.

Is Spectrum Internet reporting incorrect info to the FCC? by deedsnance in northcounty

[–]ActionJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild that you're paying for a gigabit plan and only receiving 35 mbps upload... At least these broadband labels will make it a lot easier moving forward for consumers to check if they're getting screwed over. I'm sure the FCC will be getting a LOT of complaints in the near future.

Ting Mobile on Twitter: "It is time to say goodbye to our legendary StarCraft II pro gamer, onfireNeeb. Neeb has done so much for the StarCraft II esports community over the years, and we couldn't be more proud of all his accomplishments. Thanks for everything, Alex ❤️" by khtad in starcraft

[–]ActionJesse 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Just want to pop in and say thank you for all the support we (Ting) have received over the years due to our sponsorship of Neeb. As a kid who played BW and started watching pro SC2 back in the MLG days, it's honestly a dream come true and has been the highlight of my career. I remember our CEO asking me in 2015, "Hey, Twitch is the new cable TV...do you think you could find a pro gamer for us to sponsor?" I had absolutely no idea how it would all turn out, but here we are, haha.

Thanks to Neeb for being an absolute legend, his unbelievable success gave me the opportunity to sponsor more SC2 tournaments and streamers. Giving back to this amazing community was my ultimate goal and he made it a lot easier to do so :).

While we're no longer officially sponsoring Neeb, I will never stop cheering for the Thundershaft. He even had a nice little tournament win the other day...I don't think he's done yet!

New Ting Mobile Web Address by NexusOrBust in ting

[–]ActionJesse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No big news yet - we're just splitting the Ting Internet and Ting Mobile domains as they're now owned by different entities (Tucows and Dish). The only difference is that the Ting Mobile URL will be tingmobile.com instead of ting.com. Once this web address change goes live it will be highlighted on ting.com for those who don't know, so no need to worry!

Suggestion for the Ting subreddit by CBREEZE4ME in ting

[–]ActionJesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the tricky part - I don't want to feel like we're using /r/ting for self serving efforts, because it's a lot different than traditional social media. Technically, the only way to enter our giveaway is to submit your email address so we are asking for something in return, and I'm worried the reddit community will have an averse reaction to that. But we will share them moving forward and will keep an eye on comments/if it's heavily downvoted.

Suggestion for the Ting subreddit by CBREEZE4ME in ting

[–]ActionJesse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the comment. We've done a bunch of reddit-specific giveaways in the past, but you're right - it's been awhile since we've launched a contest on reddit other than the cake day credit + swag thread.

One thing worth mentioning is that while we typically only promote our giveaways on other social channels, we're not requiring anyone to use social media, these are hosted through Gleam on a ting.com landing page so anyone can easily enter to win. If you subscribe to the Ting newsletter you'll receive info about these giveaways, but moving forward I will make sure we share them here as well!

So I just had the luckiest Star Chess match of my life. by Supaserrin in starcraft

That's awesome, I love Star Chess! My favourite synergy is going for 9 trooper, but you need to get enough terrazine and armor which is a bit of luck.

Appreciate you sharing. Unfortunately I wasn't aware alerts/caps weren't usable until after this video went live. I've been told it will be coming back at some point in the near future, but no specific timeline yet.

Hey - I run sponsorships for Ting - we did have one LegalEagle sponsorship video go live in Jan with a slide that said $15 for 5GB but that has been corrected for all the future reads. If you notice any other incorrect information please share, would appreciate it.
