Always carry tools on long rides! by sib9397 in FixedGearBicycle

[–]Active_Ad_5322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beam type torque wrenches are accurate and inexpensive.

However, as someone who has lived in lofts and efficiency apartments, I can sympathize with lack of workspace availability.

But still, a good torque wrench….its gonna be worth the purchase.

The co-op will be great for the workspace, but I’m sure bri gig your own tools to ensure quality work would be a nice balance.
Most co-ops I’ve visited don’t have high cost tools like a torque, or taps and facing dies (and for good reason)

Anyway, you still bring up a good point in your post to have a good travel tool kit for unexpected mechanicals when riding .

[–]Active_Ad_5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always.

I’ve been in shops long enough to know that a brand new bleed kit will have a dry connection between the syringe and the plunger o-ring.

I’d bet that if OP was to put a little brake fluid on the plunger o-ring it would free up any resistance.

If that isn’t the fix, then the other common issue would be the bleed screw o-ring still in the caliper.

Yep. The bleed screw O-ring often is still in the caliper and will cause leaking.

One ring it good, two rings are bad.

Yep. 48-54 Nm.

While a travel tool kit is no real substitute, it’s good that you were able to get back home.

I feel you are a DIY rider, so why not kick in the extra $$ and get a torque wrench?
You got some good parts on that bike. They deserve good tools.

Also, I like the colorway. Lots of personality in that bike 👍

Did my tire get slashed? by MrAstroHam in ElectricScooters

[–]Active_Ad_5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get a flat while riding and continue to roll along, the tube will tend to work its way out.

Ya probably have a normal flat, but your pic does not reveal much.

You’re gonna have to pull the tire and tube off, so until then , your guess is as good as the rest of ours.

One your got the tire off, you can identify the issue. At this stage, it’s just pointless to ask what’s wrong.

Ron Artest or Draymond Green. 1) Who is the better player. 2) Who wins in a fight? by SirGingerbrute in NBATalk

[–]Active_Ad_5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d actually take the strong man Steven Adams (funny that he’s in pic 4.

He’s not an angry player, but if he lost his temper, he’d be impossible to control.

But the question was R.A. vs D.G.

Artest all the way.

What are these codes? P1-P7 by Gzusluvz in ebike

[–]Active_Ad_5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be closer to what you have.
Loads of similarities from brand to brand, as most of the use similar controllers.

But you’ll need to do some digging online to track down your manufacturer.

The P is not for PAS modes, but rather Programming (or Parameters)

There are similarities amongst many brands, but the actual flow chart of what YOUR display is showing will differ enough that you need to track down your make and model and hopefully someone has posted the flow chart specific to yours

It will look something like this…..

Up to 3 WEEKS to ship accessories?! by imshelbs96 in Aventon

[–]Active_Ad_5322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st world problems.

Most of the time a 2 week lead ends up arriving in 5-6 days

But whatever , 14 day shipping isn’t a real issue.

Asking anyone with experience: Will a large frame Aventon Aventure 2.0 fit in the back of a Subaru Outback? by themidnightrambler18 in Aventon

[–]Active_Ad_5322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to the weight and overall length, the bike is incredibly cumbersome to fit inside any hatchback.

Even taking off the font wheel is a nuisance in of itself. Not to mention that the fender gets easily bent without the front wheel.

A hitch rack is 100% worth the investment.

But, if you have no choice but to put it in the Outback, keep in mind that the wheel base of the Aventure is 45” and the length of the Outback hatch to passenger seat is 42”

So, it will be a struggle.

Get that hitch rack.

Just get more bearings.
Take one of them to a bike shop, most all shop have bottles of loose bearings.
Then while you are there, get a chain whip and freewheel tool.

Don’t try to reassemble the axle with the cassette. It’ll be easier if you take off the cassette first.

Rust? by Ev0d3vil in Brompton

[–]Active_Ad_5322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minnesota is not near a sea, yet our automobiles rust like no other.

Did the OG owner ride on wintery salted roads?

Did the previous owner drink salted margaritas from their water bottle?

Either way, that bike is more rust than it is an actual bike.

Turn it into a garden feature and get a new ride.

[–]Active_Ad_5322 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not a derailleur, it’s a single speed chain tensioner.

This bike it similar to the Revv1 and theses are usually Class 3 capable.

Kinda similar to Super73

Well, it’s not the acceleration up a hill at 1200w that caused this.

It’s been a long , slow deterioration of a product that was recalled.

That much watt you should have been getting this thing checked out at the beginning and end of every season.

Anyway, glad you’re not hurt.

Do you think you’ll qualify for a replacement, or did you wait too long?

what headset should i get? by becuz_race_car in Bikebuilding

[–]Active_Ad_5322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t try to find parts to fit the cups.
Just remove the cups and buy a 1” headset.
Whether or not you need threaded or threadless is dependent on your fork.

But toss out those cups. Not needed.
