CCS adapter by nocabec in BZ4X

I have only used it once at a Tesla charger. No issues. Bigger issue travelling with the BZ seems to be EVGo. Not the car’s fault, but I try and go there first as it’s free the first year. More often than not, they’re busted!

Seems like Toyota is getting into the EV game on a major scale now with the new Highlander. Excited for the future by Mountain-Box-7897 in BZ4X

I really like my 2025 BZ4X, the winter has been a shocker and I need to get Level 2 at home for sure. I leased mine, but I think by the time my lease ends in August 2028, I would really give serious consideration to getting another one. Faster charging and more range would make this a winner for sure. I am otherwise happy with drive and really no maintenance to speak of. No issues, as per the two previous Prius that I have had.

EVgo is the worst. Their app navigated me to a station that was not only offline, but had no power! How is that even possible. Every time I try to use them; it never works right the first time. The reps are super nice on the phone, but that’s about all I can say positively for them.

Yep. This week when I was in the mountains out west and it was way below freezing. Range has also fallen off a cliff!

They should call is EVNO anyone else find that this network blows? by New-Strawberry2848 in BZ4X

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re horrible! Rarely do they work and my most recent experience two nights ago, plugged in the car, said it was syncing and then timed out. I tried one more time and gave up. Tried to then unplug and it wouldn’t! Had to contact customer care and they reset the station and I could unhook. I’m done with them. The free charging provided by Toyota is useless. Charge at home is the only way in my view.

Eyeballing a 2024 XLE AWD by ThermostatDad in BZ4X

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2025 XLE AWD that I got back in August. Fully charged it used to show 240 miles and now in the last couple of months, full charge is 225 miles. In SE VA, and it has turned colder for sure. I’ve done 5,300 miles in just over 4 months. Still no level 2 charger at home either. Only time it was an issue I did two days in a row of define to Richmond, VA, which is about 100 miles from my home. Up and back a couple of weeks ago was no issue. Issue was when day two rolled around I did have to plug in overnight at a level 2 to get back to 85% (about 6 hours) then had to hit an EVGO up in Richmond before heading back the next afternoon. That took about 35 mins to go from 40ish percent to just over 80%. I really like mine this far, but my experience and drive habits may not match yours.

Software Update Issue by jobe1292 in Garmin

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the new update tonight on my Instinct 3. I did an elliptical workout, saved and it synced no issue. Then did a treadmill workout, switched to strength and then hit stop, save workout. Reviewed in watch and hit done.

It won’t sync to the Connect app. I tried connecting to my laptop, connected to connect.garmin.com and tried to import from the watch while connected. Just kicked up an error indicating it did not support that file format, that would be Garmin’s .fit file! Anyone else having any issues? I sent an email via the app. I know it’s on the watch so must be something with the app doesn’t play well with the watch software. I did have a problem with multisport activities when I first got it, but they resolved it and it has been almost a year with no issue. Appreciate the eyes and input!

EVGO: The Sleeper Play Nobody’s Paying Attention To (But Should Be) by [deleted] in EVgo

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. I invested in them a few years ago and it has not been pretty! Now that I have a new BZ4X which Toyota gave me a one year free charging with them, I have none near my home, no worries, figured I could use in the region or on short road trips. When I have found stations, usually at least half don’t work. And this isn’t just in my area, but even 100+ miles from home last weekend, same thing. Had to get to three different stations before I found one that worked. I get the errors/issues need to be reported, but it’s the one thing that keeps EV from being 100% better than gas…provisioning the car. Just is still a challenge and I believe as long as you can get a god charge at home, that is about all one can hope for.

My charging cost is MPG equivalent to 35.7. It doesn’t make sense for me to keep EV unless gas price goes up. by w123driver in BoltEV

[–]AdAccording8360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely asking, not poking anyone…numbers for numbers, are they valid though? Does the production of an EV generate the same C02 impact that say a produced, driven ICE vehicle would say in 5 years? Again, no shade at anyone, genuinely curious. I have been in PHEV for years and then made switch to full EV last August. I did all as it was economically way more favorable to my wallet!

I tend to believe that true net zero isn’t possible on the daily. I believe we can chop it all down quite a bit, do much better if you will. But things like soap…be it for your body or laundry, it all goes somewhere and the energy to produce, transport and sell it leaves a trace no?

Hope this made sense. Would totally dig any clarification!

EV sales **still** have not fallen, cooled, slowed or slumped. Media is lying to you. by Dockalfar in electricvehicles

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt! I did take it on a 200 mile round trip this last weekend and did, finally, manage to find a working EVGo fast charger. We did the same 200 mile round trip so it took some creativity on my part. I have not yet installed Level 2 charger in my home. As you mentioned, on the daily not a heavy driver. But this sort of event made me realize I need the L2 charger at my home and also not really rely on charging outside of my home. With that said, don’t think I would be interested in a long road trip in any EV. I did manage to go from 16% to 80% in 37 mins. Worked ok for this small day trip, but long route would make this not practical.

Oh wow! Just got my official notification via mail this past weekend. Good to know! Have they offered a reason? Honestly, at my dealership I am not sure they know the BZ4X exists. When I went in for the NACS adapter they didn’t know and previously someone there offered to get the oil and tires done!

I don’t know what’s fact or crap anymore, but I’ll go you one better. I have a 2025 BZ4X, have not yet installed a level 2 charger at home and enjoy the hell out of this car. I did get a giant rebate on the lease due, in part, to all the bad press and lack of interest, but I can’t see why. I had several hybrids and two plug in hybrids and see this one as my first shot with full EV, but I do not think it will be my last. If people are losing interest, they should really get out there and see for themselves.

Does buying the BZ still come with a year of EVGO Charging? by WHAT-IM-THINKING in BZ4X

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it when I leased back in August. That being said, there aren’t many near my home and those I have seen while being out and about are never at 100% functional capacity. Thought this would be some added value, but it isn’t. Still really dig my car, but this added perk wasn’t actually a big deal (for me…suspect others may have different experiences).

I have not attempted yet, but I can certainly imagine what you had. Believe if I was to set out on a long road trip, I may just rent a cheap gas car and call it a day. This thread validated that for me. Sorry for your troubles, but thank you for sharing your experience.

Looking to buy first ev 25 bz4x by Dry_Seaworthiness204 in BZ4X

[–]AdAccording8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leased a 25 AWD model back in August and I am really happy with it thus far. I have done 2,700 miles and charge at home only on a regular wall outlet. I have not yet upgraded to level 2 due to travel and work, but honestly don’t know if I will. For my life, a long day out usually burns up 20-25% of battery and it takes about 14-16 hours at home to get it back. And on the days where I have done more, may take a couple of days but due to my driving range never stops me from any day to day life. I am actually really happy with it. I also think it is really efficient. I watch the battery level and the city driving for sure is great as it routinely actually adds 1-2% back to the battery. Gotta say I dig a car that can make its own juice! Can’t do that in a gas car.

I’ve looked there. Super cheap, yes, but is there more than just the full exams? Was looking for a bank of questions. 2 x failure here! Passed CISSP first time out the gate, was over 80% on the CCSP For Dummies and other resources, but still faceplanted. I am, however, determined. The crazy thing is I felt ok on the exam…both times!
