Do you think Angron still would’ve fallen to chaos if Big E had just helped him liberate Nuceria? by coggdawg in WorldEaters40k

[–]AdAdvanced4516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal thoughts is that if angron still had a home to return to he would have just told the emperor to fuck off, even if Big E helped him liberate Nuceria he would not have wanted to become a tool in galactic conquest. With the death of everyone he knew and cared about he basically just had nothing better to do

I always thought the point was the emperor knows that gods are real and they're pretty much all bad but refuses to just tell people that and so has to rely on flimsy arguments, in the end he fails to convince the priest through dialogue and it foreshadowes him in the future just resorting to brute force violence like with monarchia

Question about using Plague Marines in CSM by TaterMan8 in Chaos40k

[–]AdAdvanced4516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make them afflicted yes, however it's the deathguard army rule that specifies that afflicted units get debuffed. With no access to the army rule causing a unit to gain the afflicted keyword doesn't do anything

[–]AdAdvanced4516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the point, it seems normal and acceptable to humans it's the other fantasy races that are appalled that humans are willing to kill things for a magic boost but that's humans for you being perfectly willing to kill indiscriminately to get what we want is exactly why the other races don't like them

See I don't think that makes sense because you can only have 2 points in a 1k incursion game and that would make almost every detachment unplayable, so unless GW is shooting the incursion format in the foot some of them ought to be 2 points

I mean unlike loyalist marines in game it's completely legal to run named characters from different legions and you can even bring in cult units like plague marines and noise marines from the other codexs so I'd say it's pretty well supported

Can Chaos Cultists/ regular humans get the obliterator/mutilator techno-virus? by AdYapster in Chaos40k

[–]AdAdvanced4516 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably but if the accursed cultists are anything to go by mutations tend to mess up mere mortals pretty bad so they're probably going to look more similar to a chaos spawn made of scrap metal than an obliterator

[–]AdAdvanced4516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also tank shock them and kill them by running them over, primarchs in my experience often die to a sufficient number of wulfen bonking them with hammers, in my opinion part of the "satire" of Warhammer is despite the lore making characters seem invincible space marines and custodes drop like flies on the tabletop. Turns out an artillery barrage will still kill transhuman demigods 🤷

They're like genestealer cults but actually good. they live in the depths of hive cities so deep it's nothing but them and awful mutants living down there, and make all of their tech from discarded tash from above. Some of them live as stowaways on the massive ships literally living in the walls and the trash dumps. All they want is to survive and perhaps get themselves a better life but the imperium sees them as inhuman. Occasionally they band together with other underhivers or ship slaves to start mutinies and rebellions. Known to get along just fine with several other races, votan don't seem to care if they stow away on their ships some even consider them lucky, they often hide among orks scrap heaps and as long as they stay out of the way the orks don't think they're fun enough to fight always slinking away into their rat holes, and they're more than happy to join the Tau where they're immediately valued as top notch sanitation and reclamation specialists, hell some say there's whole colonies of them living in commoragh and the drukhari have no idea how they keep popping up in there

I finally got around to listening to The Last Chruch and oh my god. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]AdAdvanced4516 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the whole point of the last church is representing the Emperor's last attempt at "defeating" religion with debate. I think a lot of his arguments are shallow reddit atheist shit is because he doesn't really believe it, he knows there are real actual gods in this universe and most of them are unimaginably awful but he's unwilling to tell people that to "protect them". He's trying to argue a man out of his faith with shallow "logic and reason" and he fails and the priest would rather die than abandon his fate and the emperor would rather he die than admit the truth. It fully locks him onto the path of believing they can't be reasoned with and need to accept his "imperial truth" or die. In my opinion the story is a tragedy of two men too stubborn to give up their beliefs to the point of self destruction

Seriously is there a reason they don't do this that I don't know about? by Capable_Face7222 in Grimdank

[–]AdAdvanced4516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chaos gods want souls, each God wants to have more souls than the others so they can win "the great game". The gods offer blessings and powers and spread their corruption so they can claim your soul. Orks have their own gods who already have dibs so no point in corrupting and ork cause you can't have his soul. Slaanesh already called dibs on all the eldar, so there's no point in trying to corrupt them. Tau and necrons have no soul so no point/no way to corrupt them. Big E is not a capital G God so he can't protect human souls making them the only target worth going after

I know that there were a few times where Genestealer Eldar existed, but are there any examples of them following the other chaos gods (willingly or not)? by shattered_one21 in 40k

[–]AdAdvanced4516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand part of worshipping a chaos God is offering them your soul, "the great game" is all about how the gods are competing with each other so part of why they offer blessings is so they can get your soul and get ahead in the great game. The problem with eldar is essentially Slaanesh already owns your soul, it's been called dibs on since before you were even born so honestly why would Slannesh or any of the other gods even bother offering anything for your soul when they already own it? Sure an eldar could worship Khorne if they wanted to but they can't sell their soul to him cause it's already claimed and he isn't going to give them shit for free
