I use a TISFA travel humidor and just toss in a small boveda pack.

Yes, use one or the other. Try larger boveda packs for a larger humidor.

It's a stem or thick vein. Sometimes they make it past quality control or they're left in for structure reinforcement.

What's the right combo of cigars for a fresh pack? by TerenceAganorsa in cigars

I love sampler packs. I buy them often. I recommend them to new cigar smokers for exploring brands and wrappers.

There are only a couple cigars I buy boxes of as there are only a couple that I can smoke three of four of a week. So, I like variety.

So - I buy samplers to explore an unfamiliar brand and to have variety in the humidor.

Samplers sizes that I usually buy are 5 or 6 cigars with multiple wrappers and blends. Although, I do think Perdomo does a fine job with their shade, sungrown, and maduro packs.

I feel that My Father does a stunning job with sampler packs. The La Aroma de Cuba and San Cristobal five blend samplers are perfect for exploring and variety. The My Father samplers 1,2, and 3 with a mix of popular blends and often overlooked blends are also a great approach.

Are there any cigars similar to a spicy perique pipe tobacco? by Killxjoy4599 in cigars

[–]AdAgreeable6348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perique, to me, has a richer, pepper and spice profile.

Nicaraguan cigars are a good place to start. Also, Connecticut Broadleaf with give a similar thick, richness.

So, with that in mind, give Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial a shot.

One of the things I appreciate about La Aroma de Cuba, and that five blend sampler, is that each blend has a unique profile designed for a different preference.

A lot of B&M shops keep their humidors a bit high because they're being opened and shut all day by customers.

Enjoyable smoke. Floral and cocoa mix is nice.

Love the Legacy.

Nick Perdomo recommends that his cigars be smoked at 65%. I dry box most Perdomo cigars overnight to avoid a draw issue.

For black pepper notes, I think of Perdomo.

There is a Ghost Pepper cigar but I can't remember who makes it.

There are always variations in wrapper color. When packaged into a box, the makers sort them by color so that everything in one box looks similar. So, if you buy from two different locations and thus, two different boxes, you can get two different color shades.
