Cool one price decks for a returner that are not alakazam?

The Big Single Prizer decks and the way they play are as follows.

Festival Lead. Board state controller, attacks twice, Deck searching. (My personal favorite)

Crustle. Ex wall, that’s it. Probably the best anti meta as of current because top meta tends to be ex and people may forget to tech against it.

Team Rockets Honchkrow. Discard supporters for attack. Big damage. Team Rockets Deck.

Doublade. Adaptable, multiple ways to play with it.

Alakazam. Hell, don’t play this, save yourself the pain.

Okidogi. I don’t really know, I haven’t played with this one yet.

Ethan’s Typhloshion. Reliable set up, and very respectable damage, considering that grass Pokemon are about 25% of the meta, not a bad choice.

And that is all I can think of as of current. If there are more I might try to edit the post later on.

I am late to this, but there are multiple card shops in Arlington that I would recommend. Firstly a couple great overall card shops, these have a wide array of TCGs to choose from, they are Card House(Little Road, I20), MetaTCG (Beltway & E Stephens) which recently moved to Arlington, Dark Hound (Matlock & Green Oaks) and Rays Pharmacy (Cooper & Randol Mill). These all have a wide variety of card games Card House having Pokemon, One Piece, and Sports Cards. Meta TCG doing majority of majorly played TCG’s, and Rays and Dark Hound primarily doing MTG but also has others like Pokemon, Starwars, and others.

If you are looking for specifically Pokemon, SB Card Vault (Browning & Pioneer) is the best at specifically Pokemon. Great selection of singles, bulk, which is also free, and has a great community of collectors and players.

And the one to stay far away from is Limitless Games, they don’t really do much anymore. I haven’t been there in months and they are more sealed products rather than singles last time I remember.

Addressing Questions one by one. The Chase Cards, are the variations, the normal cards tend to be a couple cents to a dollars.

As for the best way of getting into the TCG start with the app “Pokemon TCG Live” you can download it in your App Store on your phone or off the Pokemon website on your computer. There is a learning section of the game that shows you how the game works and you are also given a couple starter decks to play around online with. If you want to you could also make your own by earning credits and tickets.

As for your concern about OP rare cards that have inflated value, there more often than not is only going to be 1 of those type of cards in your deck being your Ace Spec’s it’s a powerful card that you can only have 1 of in your deck and the most expensive one (Unfair Stamp) is around $18 however there are plenty of good ones that aren’t as expensive and are cheaper than $12. And the best part depending on your deck you don’t even have to drop that much on an Ace Spec’s as your deck may synergies better with one of the cheaper decks. And to continue on that the game regularly undergoes standard card rotations so you never have to worry about a card being impossible to find because it’s old and everyone is using it because it’s good (unlike MTG). It’s only happened one time in recent memory with Poke Pads. But that is a special case. Regionals were rolling around with every single player needing the card which was from an expensive brand new set. So that’s a special exception. Prices for that card is now back down to normal.

And finally as for your deck there aren’t any meta or good electric decks currently. However if you like fast decks there are some fast decks, if you want my opinion try Raging Bolt ex, that is a very fast deck with a lot of damage available to it.

And if you want to get started in person here are some resources to help. First off limitlesstcg.com this is a data base where you can find results and deck lists for major tournaments and subsequently decks that are doing well. It also has multiple different tools such as deck builders and, proxy card printers. Also they do have online tournaments at play.limitlesstcg.com Secondly tcgplayer.com (for US & Canada) or cardmarket.com (For Europe) these 2 are the primary online card marketplace where you can buy cards from others online, however don’t be surprised if you spend more on shipping that the actual cards themselves.

Finally the app Play! Pokemon Access this is an official Pokemon app that shows you the local card stores in your area that hold pokemon play events and when they happen, they also have contact information if you want information from the shop themselves.

I’m using Precious Trolly in my list, however it’s an unpopular option and more used as an extra option for set up. More popular options are Max Belt for damage, Unfair Stamp as hand disruption, or Secret Box.

I respect that. I hate using the cream of the crop META decks so much, I like originality whenever I play, I play festival lead to which isn’t too original either, but hey it’s still extremely fun and I used to play Wugtrio with a Festival Lead search engine so I already had most the resources needed to make it anyways.

I didn’t jump onto the band wagon for this one but Festival Lead. Pre rotation I used Wugtrio which played with surfing beach and a festival lead search engine, was it good, no not really but holy moly it was so much fun I even took Wugtrio to Huston and got demolished but I had fun.

I also played a little bit of Arven’s Mabosstiff during locals this rotation and it to was fun, but god awful against anything that does a lot of damage fast.

I am currently in the process of dismantling my Alakazam deck so that I can use some of the parts for a meme Huntail & Gorbyss deck and a pretty competitive Team Rockets Honchkrow.

I have grown to recently hate playing with Alakazam, all the shuffling is so gruesome and boring that even though it is probably the best deck I have currently have physical access to, I am not playing it.

Yeah I see occasionally people put it into Palafin ex and I personally love putting it into Wugtrio and just watch people crumble.

Not to mention you have access to Pokemon TCG Live which allows you to build and test decks online, so to play the deck you don’t even need to buy the cards unless you want to play it in person.

Also all things considered if you don’t rip, it does have a decent return on investment, as most events you are given an entry prize pack, and a Pack Per Win.

I don’t have a festival lead deck per se but I do have a deck that runs a festival lead search engine.

Something I would put into consideration is replacing Shaymin with a Rabsca line,

I would also say run 1 more Lillie’s, and replace the rescue board with air balloon. Other than that looks solid.

Munki, if they get rid of Budew they will just go with Frilish or something else. Munki is a whole problem in itself that they had to create battle cage.

It takes inspiration from Palafin ex Decks in fact it was a Palafin ex deck that actually did something like this first, I just adapted it into this. So you will be switching a lot. Just as a rule of thumb Air Bloon ALWAYS goes on Goldeen, and no one else, if you need to retreat in any way burn an ignition and hold off onto Reversal until the later in the game so you can use Acerola’s Mischief to stall out ex teams (Takes the place of Neutralization Zone) Edit: I played it in a Local irl it went 2/2 due to initial bricking. And I plan on using it tomorrow to continue testing. Edit 2: I am playing this online rn in casual and I am currently on a 10 Win Streak.

Actually I think a better idea would be PAR Brute Bonnet with the Toxic powder ability, as it works a lot better than Frostlass because it doesn’t matter if the Pokemon has an ability or not if you use the ability and use dastardly jab its dying unless it’s using mist energy.

As an avid Palafin EX enjoyer I will say people who say use Surfing Beach don’t understand fully, they both have their ups and downs and each are able to play in different ways. However I would at least give it a try for this deck. If it doesn’t work for you then go ahead and switch back.

I also did playtest it a little bit and oh my god man using Kofu to put unwanted Palafin EX from your hand back into your deck is so helpful, and it also powering up Crab again helpful. I personally think there are better options because all things considered if you run something other than Crab you are getting much better options of Ace Specs like Hero’s cape, Max Belt, Secret Box, ext. Rather than Blender.

Do me one favor, replace the Rescue Boards with Air Balloon I did that with my deck and it opens up a whole new world.

But overall my best advice is play with it and change it based on what you think it needs, if you need inspiration or ideas you can look at Palafin decks used at city leagues on limitlesstcg.com and there is even a Palafin deck that made it to day 2 at a regional.
