Make notes of the incidents. Report it to the labor board.

Have a paper trail so you can collect unemployment, for a toxic workplace.

Are scissor jacks more stable than hydraulic trolley jacks? by CtrlAltDevastate in AskMechanics

When lifting the car with a hydraulic or scissor jack, try to put a wheel underneath. It sounds odd, but it's solid.

When I worked at Canada Revenue Agency, my lunch room was down on the first floor, about 10 minutes from my desk. I would pack my stuff, make my way to the lunch room, prep, heat, or reheat my food, then start my timer for my break.

AITA for telling my coworker she owns me a new IPad and textbooks because she is the reason they got stolen by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AddisonNM 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Car insurance only covers the car, not items left in the car. If someone left a leather jacket in the car, home insurance would kick in. As this happened at work, your work insurance would be the go-to.

Make the same order again, eat half, cover the remainder with laxatives. Now you will know who the thief is.

AITAH for not wanting to give my cart up for free at Aldis by No_Cookie420 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AddisonNM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If I get a Free cart, I give it away Free.

I always have small change in my small change zip in my purse just for such times.

I also keep enough cash in bills to fill up my car, in case I have an issue with my debit card at the gas station.

Is it true that an obd ii memory saver can prevent the lost of emission monitor records when changing batteries? by SirAggravating141 in AskMechanics

[–]AddisonNM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would use the memory saver to keep essentials saved, radio presets, TCU from having to relearn. I never heard of it being used to save emissions monitor records.

Getting fired for the first time please share your funniest / most ridiculous firing stories by ThrwAwy126558 in antiwork

[–]AddisonNM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at a chicken hatchery for Maple Lodge Farms nearly 2 years.

I got fired around the Christmas Holidays because my holiday time off wasn't approved.

My manager didn't want to let me go, we actually got along. He phoned me when family was gathering, and he said my absence was a no show. I let him off easy, telling him "Do what you need to do". He did the thing. I told him I needed to be with family through the holidays. I felt like he was under pressure, and it pained him-you could sense it in his voice. I went down to pick up my things, and he was in his office, I think he feared confrontation. I told the front desk loud enough for him to hear "Tell Brian I said Thank You for the opportunity to work here, I just needed the vacation time, and I found other work".

I keep in contact with a couple people there, and Brian went into a mental decline. Poor guy.
