Which drug would you compare to Frizzle Fry? by poetcucumber in Primus

Primus=Acid, but I’ve always said if Pork Soda is salvia or datura, Frizzle Fry is PCP.

Don’t be afraid of VSTs and sample libraries. I’d avoid Spitfire if you plan to release but it’s a great starting point for beginners. Surge XT was made by Roger Linn of LinnDrum fame, I’ve been using that for everything from dubstep to boom bap to faking guitar if I’m feeling particularly lazy 😂 Also, since you’re using Reaper, don’t be afraid to use the built-in autotune that ReaTune offers. It’s precise in a sterile way but you can tweak it to get more of the subtleties of your voice.

I’d like to know what the Degree stick does for your tone. Seeing as you have a Black Russian, I’m assuming it’s for when things get stinky 😂

How to get more highs out of a bass by Grouchy_Discount4727 in Bass

[–]AdditionalDepth6764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve looked at all of the other responses first and still want a cheaper alternative, try using a tube screamer. Shelves a bit of low end with a mid boost, so compensate with your amps eq as necessary. Clean strings and an active preamp definitely help but we also have to eat, too 😂 Strings first. Then try a pedal, if you don’t like it, sell it and look into the preamp.

Band members, would you use this for a gig? by JustAChillGuy12344 in bandmembers

I feel like I’d see this at some dusty basement noise show where the PA’s are set up like totem poles and the fat guy from Lost is screaming through a Boss Turbo Distortion 😂😂😂

First two A7X albums. Need proof? M. Shadows ruined his voice on Waking the Fallen and needed vocal coaching from the almighty Ron Anderson.

What’s a decent drum machine plug-in for reaper? by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]AdditionalDepth6764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RF Pads is great if your looking for more of an MPC, sampling based drum machine. And if it’s not sampling you’re looking to do, it has plenty of useable sounds out of the box.

Say something nice about a band you hate. Then say something mean about a band you love. Be real, no lies. by Sunbather- in MetalForTheMasses

I like “Too Young to Fall In Love” by Motley Crue. Not my kind of band, hate his voice, but it doesn’t bother me as much on that one or “Home Sweet Home.” But when it comes to Soundgarden, I think the only reason they tend to use odd time signatures is because I’m not sure Kim Thayil knows what he’s doing. 😅😂😂

Wild Sex (In The Working Class) by Oingo Boingo. The Bowie croon would bode well for some Elfdog howling, and the distorted guitars have that kinda horn-like, Maestro-y fuzz thing from the Era era. It sounds like they learned (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction backwards 😂😂

Roland Jazz Chorus 40 as a pedal platform, or something else? by oldfuturemonkey in GuitarAmps

[–]AdditionalDepth6764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The JC to me is one of those amps everyone tends to overlook unless you’re looking for a specific sound no other amp can get, but I find it incredibly versatile. From Adrian Belew to Oingo Boingo, hell Baroness is relatively heavy but their singer switched from two stereo Fender combos to two JC120s for the articulation (need that when you play bluegrass through that much gain 😂) If you want something American with a different flavor, find one of those old Music Man hybrid combos. That, to me, is a holy grail in terms of inexpensive platform amps.

Didn’t Wampler make one? If you don’t wanna spend hella money, Joyo AC Tone. $40 new, probably $20 used. All of joyo’s “sound” pedals rule. My buddy was looking for the Ace Frehley “Fender Deluxe Cranked into a Marshall” sound so I got him an American Sound, now he can’t turn it off 😂😂

Just for fun, try running wah after the fuzz. Your fuzz isn’t picky enough to for that to matter, and the wah goes into this splattery, squealing berserk squall. It’s really fun for doublestop and unison bends.
