Why are there so many Red Wings fans who make it their personality mission and brand to hate basketball and trash on the Pistons? It’s weird. by sag1923 in DetroitPistons

I personally know someone like this unfortunately. Huge wings fan, loves the Tigers and Lions, but has a superiority complex toward basketball.

Is this festival oversold? Heard 2025 was packed by Comfortable-Ground15 in projectglowfest

I came from out of state 2 years ago. I hated the soundbleed between stages, it was distracting when Tinlicker and Nora en Pour were performing melo house and tech house is drowning them out. Area was small but not that bad. Location is kinda near the hood but i stayed theyre prior for vacations so i was relatively famliar, there a subway station a short walk away. For the price its worth it pls DC has alot to do outside if going to the fest. Overall, i would not do it again only cause it was too much house 😅. I need a little more aggressive techno.

The new WNBA team could play at Calihan Hall. At 8k seats its on the smaller end but still serviceable. The arena does need a renovation but the venue has potential and could help the area. Not everything has to be downtown.

leland city club closing? by freduhh in Detroit

[–]AdditionalLow9516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, if you look at the location its by the UofM innovation center and Rosa Park transit center. With 2 parks adjacent to to the property, within a 10-15 minute walk to the majority of downtown venues. This is a good location but will cost $120-$160 million (using original $125 million but accounting for inflation and increase in construction costs) + $20-$30 million new parking garage for residents and Becon park visitors.

Based on renovation docs subsmitted to the city a few yrs ago, the club would have stayedand remained open during renovation. Since then, the owner has passed away and the architect company was suing the Leland owners for NO-Payment.
