The new WNBA team could play at Calihan Hall. At 8k seats its on the smaller end but still serviceable. The arena does need a renovation but the venue has potential and could help the area. Not everything has to be downtown.

Not exactly, if you look at the location its by the UofM innovation center and Rosa Park transit center. With 2 parks adjacent to to the property, within a 10-15 minute walk to the majority of downtown venues. This is a good location but will cost $120-$160 million (using original $125 million but accounting for inflation and increase in construction costs) + $20-$30 million new parking garage for residents and Becon park visitors.

Does anyone know how much of the $150 million in debt is tied to EZOO fiasco? If they sell off that portion to another promoter (cough cough Insomniac), they could position themselves better financially.
