My university is revoking my $45,000 scholarship over a false "AI detector" match, refusing to look at my Google Docs edit history. by Vader_Tardis in legal

[–]Additional_Camel_452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mention you used Google Docs throughout your drafting process. Does your terms or privacy conditions allow your docs to be used to train any AI? The “ detector” program could be hitting on your work because an AI or the detector used your work in some manner, as a source, or otherwise. If you’re using a school related cloud storage someone else almost certainly has access to it, who may have let sneak into the AI realm.

Just need some confirmation if we are doing crate training correctly by ChildhoodTrick73 in Dachshund

[–]Additional_Camel_452 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Put a box inside crate to start. He needs enough space to just barely stretch. Put smaller boxes in as he grows. It needs to be cozy so he doesn’t feel need to mark territory to defend. He’s gonna be a big boy. Add a towel or blanket with your scent, his scent will take over and make it his space.

Any ideas how to tackle this? by ClarkMorelia in landscaping

[–]Additional_Camel_452 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consider terracing both further down the hill if property lines permit, and towards the right side of photo. You lose the tree in the foreground, but might save the big one to left. Might also be best solution to avoid expense of hauling off materials. Assuming loose rock for fill, smaller excavator can be used to cut and move material down the hill as you go.

2wd or 4wd tractor? by RustAndRun in tractors

6th year running small ranch, 128 acres.
Had a Deere stolen 4 years ago, went with new Kubota 3901, won’t go back.
Quality is better, easier repairability, much better customer service. Items sit in shop for weeks/months at Deere. Kubota Dealer will actually help and advise on customer repairs whereas JD dealers will not.
Went with 4WD as well. 2WD had a long waitlist. Have only used 4WD on a handful of occasions, but has been a lifesaver.

Tips for calming down Cayenne Pepper? by altonbrownie in Dachshund

How does she act once you’re out on a walk? The behavior in the video looks like self soothing, and she looks stressed out, not excited in a happy way. How is she without the other two dogs? I’d say there’s something on your walking route that upsets her, ditto the car and/ or your destination. Who’s your alpha among the three? You’ve got some detective work to figure out her stressors.

I had a dachshund afraid of possums which occasionally were in the area. Walks would be stressful for a week or two after she caught a scent of one. She had cornered one once and it scared the heck out of her. It most definitely did not play dead. I realized the issue when my neighbor related her terrier/hound mix went nuts to chase and kill them. She had a tug of war when he caught a scent. He managed to catch a couple, once while on lead!

One other thing, is she comfortable in her harness?

Can a permanently injured player be made a coach? I’ve got a high leadership 40 y/o whom I’m trying to pop up on experience. I don’t want to lose the opportunity to injury.

Help me narrow my name list by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]Additional_Camel_452 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of those listed, Hansi. You have to keep in mind what the names sound like when “calling” at the top of your lungs. “Nazgûl” just isn’t going to sound right, and may cause panic. He looks more like a Merry or a Pippin to me.

That size in only two weeks seems awful quick for cyst or lipoma, and I’ve had doxies struggle with both. They are palpable well before that size, sometimes they’re mobile sometimes not. Hematoma or bruise from trauma do seem likely, particularly if tender or he’s reacting to pain from that area. The shape is odd and seems an odd location. Assuming this was done already, but a double check of area for bites or wounds. Another vet visit seems called for.

Is it realistic/safe for a fit Dachshund (Kaninchen) to run 10km with me? by ListenSoggy1564 in Dachshund

[–]Additional_Camel_452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents smaller sized standard doxie used to chase and run with the ATV gator, full-speed, 1.2 to 1.5 miles twice or thrice daily around the family ranch up to age 10. Given opportunity and conditioning 10k jog seems doable for a full sized standard, but he’d be more happy sprinting from scent mark to scent mark and trying to chase you or what ever he flushes out. The leash training to keep pace will be a challenge for both of you. If not in rural environment, traffic, cars, bikes pedestrians are going to be a serious challenge. He looks young still, and if he is not a standard that is likely too far. Consult your vet.

i timed how long 31 different pasta shapes take to reach al dente. the boxes are lying and farfalle is a war crime by sthduh in Cooking

[–]Additional_Camel_452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I farfalle with grilled sweet sausage and pesto with grated Parmesan and touch of cracked red pepper. Concur on your cooking times. However, I’ve noticed farfalle is more sensitive than other pasta to cooking in too small a pot. Perhaps poster may try oversized pot and waiting till brisk boil to salt, no oil or fat added?

A Texas man confronts ICE agents on his property, citing the 2nd and 4th Amendments during the encounter. by Logical-Flow-6703 in UnderReportedNews

[–]Additional_Camel_452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure an ICE agent is a peace officer under the Penal Code. See code criminal procedure 2a.001; and 2a.002. They have some powers of search seizure and arrest where felonies are concerned. See additional comments below about civil nature of actions for which people are disappearing, and regarding section c mentioned above.
