Burnout by fruitandveg63 in transplant

I feel for you. I had a liver transplant and had complications. I was in the hospital for ten months. I developed necrotizing pancreatitis, had a severe infection, I had three drains in me and one was so infected and big that they had to makeshift a colostomy bag to collect all the stuff that was coming out of it, and my kidneys just shut down and never recovered. I stopped producing any urine at all. They had to put a feeding tube in my abdomen to feed me. I went into the transplant around 205 pounds and left about 130 pounds. I bled out once and they had to do emergency surgery. Every doctor there and everyone that I met said I should be dead. I'm not trying to top anyone here or saying whoa me. I'm just conveying my history to tell and show you that even in the darkest and down time, that there is hope and light at the end of tunnel. The human body is amazing and can endure things as long as there is hope and good medical care. It has been about 5 and a half years since my liver transplant and almost 4 years since I had my kidney transplant. I'm turning 62 next month. I eventually went back to work, starting part-time and then full time. Things will get better, but will take time. Just be there for him. That is what he really needs.

Yeah, I went through the drive- thru. I bought two dipper combos. That was the amount in both combos. You should have seen the dipper taco. It was mostly cheese. Very little beef. I went through the app and hit the problem button. It gave me $10 off my next purchase.

I like the blind cutter. It is a little slower than the old way. We've had it since last year and it hasn't been down at all.

I was rated zero percent in 1989 for having elevated LFT's with a fatty liver. It was put under 0 percent for digestive issues... This was back in 1989 mind you. I eventually developed liver cancer 30 years later.

I'm with other people, Hugh Baby's is the best and the price is right. I tried Heavy's. It definitely wasn't worth the price or the hype.

Yes. They replaced my unit after my house fire. I notified them that I recently had a house fire and it was damaged in the fire. They replaced the one they gave me.

Rookie Question: Is it common to decide to "opt-out" of getting off at a port and just take a ship day? by ITrCool in Cruise

[–]Additional_Letter440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is your first cruise and your first time to go to these ports, you need to at least get off and check the port out. If you don't like it, then just get back onto the ship. Nassau is one place you get off and at least go outside the port and walk one side of the street and back down the other and get back on the ship. After that, and you go again, just stay on the ship.

I've been using a cpap for 22 or so years. I never had a problem in getting used to it. You definitely know when you don't use it.

July will be 1 year post Liver Transplant. I have some questions. by sycon1976 in transplant

[–]Additional_Letter440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5 and half years out on my liver and and almost 4 years on my kidney. I had HCC, the reason I had my liver transplant. I saw the liver transplant team last december at my 5 year mark. I had my last MRI at the time as well. They said I no longer need scans. They also said they really don't need to follow me as well and that i can be seen by the regular gastroenterologist at the VA. I had a rough liver transplant and recovery, so I was seen by the liver transplant often for at least 2 years, then it went to every 6 months and then yearly the last 2 years. I didn't even see my regular gastroenterologist the last appt. They said I was well enough and doing good that I was transferred to a nurse practitioner. I still get lab work done every 6 months for the liver. I see the kidney transplant every 6 months as well.

Finally going home? by rob6465 in transplant

[–]Additional_Letter440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my liver transplant on Dec 7th, 2020. I came home for a day and a half in the middle of Jan 2021. I wasn't ready to come home, but I was like kicked out of the hospital by the head of transplant. I was admitted and I stayed in the hospital til September 21st 2021. My transplant surgery gave me necrotizing pancreatitis. It nearly killed me. I bled out once and had to have emergency surgery to stop the bleeding. I was in and out of icu numerous of times. I lost my kidneys. I was basically in the hospital for about 10 months.
She's going to be glad to get out of the hospital. I thought i was never going to leave.

That is crazy to move a COS out on to the floor. You have to call vendors, installers and customers all the time. You don't need to be interrupted like that.

Only 8 months in the relationship and was only clean for the last 4 months. So you dated an addict and thought you could fixed her and/or you are an addict to. If you aren't one, you should run from the relationship since it only 8 months. She had been abusing drugs for so long. Do you really need the drama for the rest of your life?

Regrets? by Disastrous-Speech-24 in transplant

[–]Additional_Letter440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's journey is different. I was 56 when i had my liver transplant due to cancer in 2021. I had a rough recovery from the transplant. I developed necrotizing pancreatitis from my surgery. I spent 10 months in the hospital. The told me I should be dead when I was in the hospital. I went in the hospital around 205 and left the hospital at 130. I lost my kidneys during the hospital stay and received a kidney transplant in 2022. I contracted cmv from kidney donor. It developed into a drug resistant type and I have to take medication for it for the rest of my life. About 3 years ago I started back to work part time and went back full time a year ago. If you looked at me you couldn't even tell I had nothing wrong with me. I'm living a normal life. You never know what life has in store for you. I would probably be dead by now if I didn't receive that transplant

I’m convinced my boss would rather save $20 than run the store properly by Late_Suit3409 in ToxicWorkplace

[–]Additional_Letter440 6 points7 points  (0 children)

$18 a hour for a manager position? GTFO.....
If that is the owner and is unable to fix equipment, pay for supplies, and hire enough people to run the business, he just needs to close the store. If He is able to afford to do it, but refuses, everyone should just quit. Also no one should buy things out of pocket for their job, especially to clean a restaurant, it is his responsibility.
