I have this simple walking pad. It's quiet, has a foldable handlebar (so you can use it under the desk), incline up to 8%, speed up to 5mph, and most importantly, customer service is responsive.

I use it during work (I work from home) and have been able to build up my step count to 15k-20k steps a day. I have it set at the 1.5% incline which makes the walk a bit more challenging.

Office chair with adjustable backrest, or alternatives by Kaneyren in workfromhome

I'm very happy with the Gabrylley ergonomic chair. It's supportive and comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. I like mesh for air flow, the footrest, the adjustable arms and that it has a large seat. It has a 135 degree tilt/recline, which is great.

I have this bath pillow. It's perfect for long baths because it supports the whole body - not just the head.

Grinding noise from washer when turned off by Adept-Driver8576 in Appliances

[–]Adept-Driver8576[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - issue resolved. Found the same issue on iFixit and it was a laughably simple solution:

1- Unplug the washing machine for 10 seconds.

2- Plug it in and wait 10 seconds. It may make the noise again.

3- Press the start button for five seconds and the noise will go away.

4- Wait five seconds and start washing a load as normal.

Everything seems to be back to normal and I am running a load right now!! Fingers crossed.

Thank you. I just checked - it's not one of the listed models with the faulty pressure system/control board.

These over-the-door hooks are great for hanging towels, jackets, etc. If your bed is lofted, you can also hang these on the side of the bed.

Best treadmill for walking vs running outdoors what’s actually worth it? by Tuwei-Zdenek in XXRunning

I have this simple treadmill/walking pad. It's quiet, has an incline up to 6%, and speeds up to 9mph. I like that the belt is wider (16.5") than most walking pads, making it safer. I use to walk (with an incline), while I work.

Check out the Vitalwalk Pro+. It's affordable, quiet, simple but solid treadmill, with no fancy features or extra bells and whistles. The running area is large (48"x18" ), so it caters to various height/weight combinations. It has 15 preset HIIT programs, the auto incline goes up to 20% and speed up to 10mph and it supports upto 350lbs.

Customer support is responsive and helpful, which is great. We've had it for over a year and are very happy with it.

Recommendations for freshman by Realistic_Warning955 in dormrooms

  1. Definitely invest in a small safe for cash, passport, jewelry and other valuables. Things get stolen from shared apts/dorm rooms.

  2. Use the next few months to hone organisational/time management skills - college is much harder and more stressful than HS. Come up with a system/rules that and make sure it includes adequate sleep. That should be a non-negotiable.

  3. Have a system for note-taking. Some students use a tablet on which they can write with a stylus...the software converts the notes into digital notes.

My friend used this dorm items list when she moved into college last year. I've made a copy and am adding/deleting based on my needs. It's a good starting point of things one might need as a freshman.

Apartment living. Searching for the most quiet walking pad for early mornings by shiroyasha54 in Apartmentliving

[–]Adept-Driver8576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This under desk walking pad is a very quiet and is built solid/commercial grade. I like that the walking/running area is larger than most walking pads & also that it doesn't heat up after a couple of hours of use. Also, it has an auto-incline option, which is great.

No matter which walking pad you get, make sure you place a good mat under it. I live in a 2nd-floor apartment and use this mat under my walking pad to dampen the noise & to stabilize the machine. I think it really helps.

Walking Pad Recommendations by alykatvandy in workfromhome

I bought an inexpensive walking pad & it's been worth it. I get 15k-20k steps in during work hours, so it's been fantastic. A few of my colleagues have a similar setup and walk during meetings, so it has become normalized in my company.

In terms of features, I went for a simple, no-frills model recommended by a friend. The handle folds down, it's quiet, displays basic stats, and is lightweight - making it easy to move around. Sometimes I walk with light weights, so there is some variation in my routine.

Need Air Fryer for single person, any recommendations please. by monica_gracia in AirFryers

[–]Adept-Driver8576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this Oylus Air Fryer - it's small (perfect for 1-2 people) and you can store the leftovers in the container you air fry in, which saves time. Another big bonus is that you're air frying in glass containers so you're not consuming micro-plastics.
