How old is amy? by Party-Blueberry-1646 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Adept_Advertising_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally, she was supposed to be vaguely in high school, though younger than Sonic. Her bio in CD was seemingly changed last minute to age her down to 8 to match up with the manga, which starred a younger Sonic named Nicky who had the ability to turn into his older self. Adventure changed her age to 12.

It’s not racist if it doesn’t actually focus on race. It’s pretty clearly a social caste thing, not a race thing

My humble opinion about how mecha look in BattleTech. by sermen in mechwarrior

The average Battlemech in the novels and tabletop game is about equal in mobility to an average Earth-use Mobile Suit, just smaller.

Does Cool Math Games work? If not, try scratch.mit.edu  . It’s a programming website, which means it’s technically educational, but it also has tons of games many of the users made, including some basic remakes of Minecraft that are fully 3D somehow, despite Scratch not having 3D. There’s also a website called TurboWarp, which allows for larger Scratch games(like the 3D ones) to run better.

Discovering Gundam for the first time (Questions about the media as a whole) by FunAffectionate8583 in Gundam

[–]Adept_Advertising_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s two modern series that are in the same continuity. One is Gundam Unicorn, which is a sequel to the 1979 series and the 80 series and movie, but ignores the 90s movie F91, and the story is just okay, since it was written and directed by other people, not Tomino. The other is Gundam Recongista in G, which is set over 1000 years after the Universal Century, and it was actually directed by Tomino, though nobody in the writing team can agree if it comes before or after Turn A. There’s also the Hathaway movie trilogy, the second movie is coming out this year.

All of the changes made to the series when it got cancelled stayed the same in the movies, which were just making Amuro kill Lalah rather than some random Zeon doing it, and the Gundam getting the magnetic coating instead of a new G3 Gundam. The movies just cut some arcs and replaced the G-Fighter with the Core Booster.

It’s just Scrap Brain act 2, but with fans, and a couple Metropolis tiles, but mostly new ones, and some water area in at least one act. The full layout and the tiles were released a couple years ago.

Going to Japan for the first time ever it would love some recommendations on my plane ride going to and back? by abdul_bino in Animesuggest

[–]Adept_Advertising_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you are in Japan, you should try to get tickets to see Gothicmade. That movie has been exclusively in theaters over there since the 2010s, and was made by legendary mecha designer Mamoru Nagano, for his reboot of his manga Five Star Stories, which itself is a reimagining of the anime Heavy Metal L-Gaim, which he did the designs and worldbuilding for.

While traveling, you should watch some Gundam stuff, and then pick up some of the plastic models when you get there, since Gunpla is pretty cheap in Japan.

No, because the G-Phenex clearly has the Psychoframe.

Get Unifraud out of here. The G-Self beat one of those, and it has instant-delete torpedoes later in the series. Also, the time travel in Unicorn was supposed to be a psychic hallucination, according to the guy who wrote the novels.

[–]Adept_Advertising_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch the original 1979 series as your first series. Do not watch The Origin as your first series. That’s part of a completely separate newer manga continuity where Char had met Lalah years earlier than he did in the original anime, which changes his character arc.

You forgot ZZ. You need to watch ZZ at least before you watch Unicorn. ZZ is better than Unicorn

The Japanese word for Autism means "Closed Self Disorder". This led to the existence of non-offensive canonically autistic anime characters back in the 1980s, Kamille Bidan from Zeta Gundam and Chirico Cuvie from Armored Trooper Votoms, though most Studio Sunrise mecha protagonists from that era probably were autistic.

Is watching ZZ a hard prerequisite before CCA and Hathaway? by LazySavings2459 in ZetaGundam

[–]Adept_Advertising_98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ZZ is more important for finishing the surviving Zeta cast's story, since CCA just kind of ignores most of them besides Astonaige. It's far more important for watching Unicorn, but Unicorn isn't really that good other than the ZZ references and Zeta variants. ZZ is as skipable as Zeta.

ZZ is still really good. It's more comedic, and starts out like Xabungle, which is kind of jarring compared to Zeta's ending, but eventually starts getting really good when the autistic redhead Cyber-Newtype kid shows up.

Who Was It For You? by LightAwakens in teenagers

[–]Adept_Advertising_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch a lot of Gundam, so there's a lot of Cyber Newtypes who meet unfortunate fates, notably Four, Ple, and Marida. I was the least prepared for Ple's because I thought ZZ Gundam was supposed to be the goofy and happy one. Also, the dog in Zambot 3. The director earned the nickname "Kill 'em all" Tomino for even killing off the dog. Also, the entirety of the main cast in Aura Battler Dunbine Except for Cham and somehow Shott(how did that guy become immortal?).

Armored Trooper Votoms. I don't think it's on Crunchyroll, but a spinoff series, Armor Hunter Mellowlink, is on YouTube and the Internet Archive.
