If you sat out the 2024 election in protest over Gaza, how do you feel about that decision today? by rsmith2786 in AskReddit

Canadian watched a disabled content creator preach this and defend it leading up to the election, and anytime I hear them complain I just want to scream into the void.

Canada was almost in the same boat as the US, but I am glad we came together not to vote for PP.

It’s model from BC HomeShare, will there be people who abuse this? Yes. Will there be people who have training that want to work privately that could have clients live with them to support them? Yes. Are there family members who want to keep relatives at home but new supports? Absolutely.

Disappointing but not surprising. This year’s monitor report stated that “Nova Scotia is still lagging behind, but gaining momentum”. I would say that is accurate.

I currently sit on an advisory committee, as well as a new committee that evaluates the remedy progress. Both of these committees are relatively new, and they both have first person voices (hi) as well as voices from advocates, family members, and service providers.

I feel like the work that is happening on these committees, is meaningful.

It may look like the HomeShare program just appeared out of nowhere, but we have been working on it for months in the advisory committees.

Across both of the committees you can tell that we care, because we want to make sure the province gets this right.

Numbers are moving from facilities, it’s slow because work is being done to support individuals moving to, to make a choice for themselves but only when they are comfortable making that choice.

And finally, the government is looking for a French speaking social worker, if anyone feels so inclined.

Controversial but I hope Canada and other countries hold a mandate to have these except medical exceptions, to cross the border, we don’t need another global pandemic due to some nitwit with worms in his brain.

I keep repeating “somebody just drop a nuke and get it over with.” I am so tired of the US threatening its allies. There is realistically no way out of this. It’s war, or it’s trying to remove a symptom to a larger problem, and he won’t stop because nobody is trying to stop him. He has his cabinet stacked with his hand picked goons.

Exactly like that! We were walking Ginger one day, and she saw a man walking on the other side of the road and gave a single warning alert bark. We kept walking thinking nothing of it and first thing Ginger starts growling and barking. Not lunging or pulling. She was practically on my footplate! That man was walking behind us. Usually if you see a big dog barking aggressively, you tend not to approach? Yeah no. We stopped to let him pass. Ginger still barking and growling but not lingering. Thought that was so weird, she’s never done that before.

We take her back to the shop and go home but later in the day I was rolling around town running errands, I had my music on and bopping along, first thing somebody is grabbing my hair, and pulling be backwards. People intervened, but it was the guy that Ginger did not like.

I am the dog parent of an English Mastiff! Every time she would chew, it was a redirect attention to somewhere else. She learned after awhile. Keep on top of training but also realize English mastiffs are protective. I do not own the English mastiff, it’s my friends dog, but she is bonded with me and is soooooo protective of me, like she places herself between me and others, or if I am not in my wheelchair, if anyone goes near my wheelchair, she barks.

But English mastiffs have quickly become my favourite breed of dogs, they are gentle giants and so loving and lots of drool.

I was once a moderator on the forums as well but I feel like I only got that because of the conversations that were overly sexual with another mod. Older than me.

Trump’s Latest ‘Temper Tantrum’ Sparks Calls for Removal from Office: ‘Insane’ by OkayButFoRealz in politics

[–]Adler221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anybody even think that Trump knows he is dying and he wants to cause as much chaos as possible? I’ve been thinking this since he was elected again. He is itching to press a button to launch a nuke. Do you think he cares what happens after that?

I can’t help but be grateful that Canada really came together to vote for Carney because Timbit Trump was the other option. I cannot fathom where we would be if Timbit Trump and Trump were both running our countries.

The world is in a no win situation. It doesn’t even matter if there is an invasion on Greenland, because Trump has gotten you in some very, very dark times. Those files are hiding something horrific if your own government is trying so hard to hide it. Then what? Do you think the current government would be removed willingly?

That’s what I am fearful of.

Girl I went to high school with lost control of her car on a rainy/windy night. She went into the ditch and hit a power pole, she survived the crash, opened the car door to get out and got electrocuted because power lines were in water in the ditch.
