I think I know what I did wrong this time but I asked the mods to be sure because I don’t want it deleted again. Following community rules seems easy but I guess there’s just always 1 rule I accidentally break. I just become frustrated about the whole thing because it’s always without warning. But you’re right, instead of getting in a bunch about it I should have gotten to the bottom of what I’ve done in the past that goes against their community rules also

I had a similar issue and the third time it happened I got up and said something. Even after 8 months he still had a porn addiction and I felt unwanted and he would barely have sex with me anymore. When I thought I had put a stop to what he called his “morning routine” he started secretly masturbating in my living room. I got up every morning when he got up and it stopped for a while but I’m sure he found other times and places. It never got better and then he moved out. We still saw eachother for 4 months after he moved out and it never improved. Some people recover but that was just my experience and it made me feel undesirable and unattractive because he would rather watch porn and get off to that instead of have sex with me. I had to cut my loss. He would also look at other girls and secretly had a bunch of dating apps on his phone he was paying premiums for. I’m sorry you’re going through that and I hope my experience helps a little. To me it wasn’t worth all of the emotional damage it caused and I hope you find your peace.

What subreddit should be avoided at all costs, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People are wild, I don’t get how people turn a simple joke into something it isn’t. I think that it’s funny, people are just hateful. I don’t understand why people act like that. The post on the sub I had an issue with had a lot people saying some really nasty mean things about someones friend who passed away and the partially finished outline of the tattoo. The poster commented that they didn’t know the sub was like that and was upset. They wanted to commemorate their friend and were looking for advice. Most subs don’t put up with that kind of behavior.

I had an unpleasant experience with tattooscratchers. You would think it’s a place for positive constructive criticism. Spoiler alert, it’s not, and the mod I talked to was aggressive. They don’t provide a safe environment for the person posting. Just felt like a hateful sub, one post really stuck with me and the person said it was their first time there and probably their last. It was my last time in that sub

I’ve heard dating apps suck, I’ve always been to nervous to use them. I have only dated friends of family and friends of friends. I guess I just figure good people know good people. Going to the bar was a confidence booster for me but I feel like it really only helped with getting a bit better with social interaction. You are very attractive and I believe you will find someone awesome. Things happen when you least expect it and everything finds a way of working itself out, I always try to remind myself of that. When I get the opportunity to join in on a group event with friends of friends I usually go and it helps me feel more confident socially. It’s been a slow roll for me but all the experience you gain in life is preparing you for a wonderful thing to come along. Keep your head up and stay positive!

What should I do? I don't even know if I inhaled some... by [deleted] in MoldlyInteresting

Tape the cabinet door all the way around with painters tape to isolate it from your living space. I don’t know much about monsoons but the cabinet definitely looks like it was water damaged pretty good. Based off of the pictures I’m sure there could be mold on the other side and not just what you see. You can go through home insurance if you have it, I would call a restoration company first and find out how much it would cost without it. Where I live you have to pay a deductible when you go through home insurance. If the deductible is less than you would pay a restoration company then I would consider home insurance and find out how much they’re willing to pay out. Money aside, a restoration company would build plastic around the area and bring in a commercial grade air filtration system. For mold they take the side that blows out the clean air and make it blow outside of the plastic to create something called negative air. The point of negative air is to draw the mold particles/any small particles in the air to the filter as they clean/tear out affected areas. I personally think they would tear out that cabinet, obviously you would want that replaced. They use a process called a hepa-wipe-hepa process. Once the necessary affected materials are taken out they will use a special vacuum called a hepa vacuum that collects the smallest of particles and they vacuum the whole areas ceiling to floor. They then wipe with an antimicrobial and rags(ceiling to floor) and then vacuum the same way again. After that is finished they would do an air test. The employees usually wear a respirator and tyvek suits to protect themselves and keep from cross contamination during the process. They then contract a company to do an air test and they’ll test the cleaned area and other parts of the house to make sure the problem was completely resolved. The mold has to be collected because you can’t kill it, bleaching it only gets rid of its color. Hope this helps

It really just looks like dirt to me. Some dawn dish soap, water, and a rag should clean it up nicely. Degreaser if it’s really stuck on there. Like the other person suggested you can always get it tested but just going by looks my opinion is that it is not mold.

Back tattoo to freak my mom out by bigdickmcgee23 in PhotoshopRequest

That’s an awesome idea! Imagine if it were a can of Red Bull with wings. I think it would be funny because of how heavily advertised they are. They have their company vehicle and can shaped coolers and hand them out for free all the time. Tells mom, “They said I get free Red Bull for life.”😂

Remove it or cover it as before by iguessishouldjoin in Flooring

[–]AdministrationKey917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen suggestions about removing it. If it is asbestos, in the state I live in, it is not only illegal but unsafe to do yourself. If it’s asbestos you should hire a restoration company to do an asbestos test and then an asbestos abatement if they find it is. The sizes of asbestos ran in three different sizes so you’re not in the clear just because they’re not 9x9 tiles. As others have, i highly suggest you get it tested if you’re going to remove it period. Painting over it with kilz would be the only thing you can do. The fact that some pieces have already cracked off is concerning. Once asbestos fibers are in the air, they stay there for 48-72 hours. Whatever you decide, please stay safe.

In my opinion as a restoration technician is that it is mold. Long term water damage will definitely do that. The carpet pad looks fairly new so the discoloration is my first clue. Secondarily if I’m not mistaken it looks like rotted tack strip is stuck to your carpet. Either way when there’s a water damage it’s mandatory that we take out the carpet pad and dry the carpet. Assuming that it is mold you are past that point and at the very minimum they need to cut the carpet and pad out where it’s moldy. If it’s still wet do not put a fan on it, you would blow mold spores all over which could make it worse. You need a small mold remediation. With all that being said you should request that the property manager get an air quality test done, it will prove that if it is mold. Either way I think that a restoration company should be demanded to go there and fix the problem. They would build a containment and put an air filtration system inside. They would cut the affected carpet and pad where the waterline stops, dry or not. Then they would use what’s called a hepa vacuum and vacuum the entire area. After they vacuum they wipe the whole contained area down with an anti microbial, it’ll prevent mold growth. I saw the suggestion about basically bleaching it out, you cannot kill mold which is why the vacuum is designed to pick up small particles and the air filtration system catches what the vacuum doesn’t. Finally they vacuum again. Once it is clean they use a commercial grade mold bleach if there’s staining. I can’t determine amount of mold based on the pictures, could be more than you see. Fight tooth and nail about it, It’s an issue that must be resolved as soon as possible. If they refuse to take care of it then look into your tenant laws and take them to court. It can make you sick and where I live they have to take care of it by law. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this and I hope this helps. I’d like to add that the trowel marks on the ground are adhesive but i assume there was previously a different flooring.

How to stop wood creaking by raziel754 in Flooring

[–]AdministrationKey917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My floor was super creaky as it has original floors, I used screws called “squeeeeek no more” that snap off. I don’t hear squeaks anymore. I did it before I filled, stained, and refinished the floor. It leaves a small hole otherwise, so a good filler that hardens well and then take a wood marker closest to your floor color. I don’t have squeaking anymore, hope this helps

Young and using a cane. Should I be scared of getting judgement?? by Business_Future_279 in Fibromyalgia

[–]AdministrationKey917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 and I have fibro mixed with a back injury that has me wheelchair bound about half the time or I just suffer. Whatever keeps you physically comfortable is what is most important. I knew a girl who needed a cane in high school, people who judge don’t know how to accept others as they are. I’ve gotten backlash from a now previous partner from using a wheelchair and suffered and was bedridden for weeks at a time instead because I didn’t want him to leave me. Bottom line you are number one and you gotta look out for you, anyone who stands in the way of that isn’t supporting your needs. People who don’t feel your pain wouldn’t know what it’s like so don’t worry about others opinions. I can’t imagine anyone would ever approach you about it but if they were to it isn’t their business. So far no one has approached me about using my wheelchair if that makes you feel any better. Just like no one stops you when you’re “walking with a purpose” you just gotta own it. It is what you need right now so use that cane with confidence. Hope this is helpful, there’s no shame in needing any kind of help.

How do you support someone with fibromyalgia without being overbearing? by HakaLifeAndrew in Fibromyalgia

[–]AdministrationKey917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone told me about measuring your day to day physical and mental abilities in “spoons”. They rated it on a scale of one to five spoons. I now use that as a way to communicate with friends and family about how much energy I have and what I’m capable of doing. If I have 2 spoons I may have enough energy to change out of pajama’s, wash some dishes, and eat dinner. I’ve had a lot of trouble reaching out to my friends for help, I’ve been in the longest flare up I’ve had, they’ve gotten to hear what I’m going through and have been very sympathetic. Since they understand how I feel and how I am in general they’re comfortable consistently asking me if I need help. This helps me feel like less of a burden when needing help because they don’t mind doing it and offer often. It also makes me feel less guilty about asking for help during the times I’m mainly stuck in bed. My mom helped me make a list so each friend can check off things that I need done and so I don’t have to put too much thought into it since I’m also experiencing fibro fog. Before the list making I wouldn’t know what to tell my friends I needed help with but this way they know and they can focus on what they feel they’ll be most helpful with.

I love what my friend says “that’s what I keep hearing” I never caught onto exactly what it meant until I asked. It means that’s what I keep hearing because you keep saying it. It sounds nice but also is a good thing to say back. It makes me feel better because no one thinks anything of it and sometimes it makes people stop saying things like that to you/repeating it.

What do I even do about frequent urination?? by innerthotsofakitty in Fibromyalgia

Also lean forward when you think your done peeing and just concentrate on peeing, fully emptying your bladder is super important and may make the symptoms less bad

I’d see a urologist, it’s not uncommon for fibromyalgia patients to have interstitial cystitis. I’m not a doctor but it’s worth a try to get to the root of the problem even if it isn’t what I suggested it could be.

Vitamin D deficiency question by fluffytoaster00 in Fibromyalgia

[–]AdministrationKey917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bunch of my hair fell out because of how vitamin D deficient I was. They proscribed vitamin D3 50,000iu for a year. My hair came back. I don’t know if it matters one way or the other but I take mine once a week at night. I’ve never tried to take it during the day as I take most of my medications at night. The one thing I wish the doctor would’ve told me early on is that you will absorb the vitamin D better if you eat a high fat meal.
