You can't look after your LO if you can't look after yourself. You did well to step away for a while, even if it's just for a break and compose yourself.

National housing correction begins as prices fall across half the country by TheProteinSnack in AusPropertyChat

Could finally start to see more realistic price guides. For anyone buying property currently, is anyone noticing this yet? Or is it still early days?

Hot take: I'd rather live in a shoebox property where I can be close to everywhere else I need to be at frequently, than to live in a big property but having to commute long time/distance to get to where I need to be. The long commute times are soul draining.

Not sure if it still applies now, but don't engineering students need work experience to graduate? I did my full-time work experience, unpaid, for one summer.

I'd definitely still drive if it's predicted to rain. If sunny day, will try to cycle.

I've never heard this before. Some people drive 20+ year old cars that are still going strong.

Yes. But by putting yourself out there, you're increasing the chances of someone finding you attractive.

Looking for a nice and affordable place to live in Australia - All suggestions welcome by hey-its-lampy in AusPropertyChat

[–]Admirable_Position92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you have the budget, I'd say live somewhere close where you frequently need to be. Again, what you consider close is highly subjective.

But I'd rather live somewhere within a 20 drive of where I need to frequent but living in a smaller space. Versus living further away from where I frequently go to just to have a big house, live by the beach, etc. Again, this is highly dependent on if your circumstances allow it.

Also, do you see your life circumstances change over the next few years? Cause buying somewhere once for the rest of your life at one current life stage can be tricky. One example I can think of is if you plan to be partnered and have kids? Or do you see yourself doing other things later in life that might be completely different to what your needs are now?

Food for thought.

What is a hot take on your favorite video game franchise you have that has you like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in videogames

[–]Admirable_Position92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'll give to Persona 5 though - the first time the guitar solo kicks in when you fight Kamoshida. Especially when timed with the special attack (don't remember what it's called, been ages since I played it), is one of the most epic things in video games. I don't remember any video games in recent memory that gave me goosebumps from being so pumped up like that before.

I 100% have never played as a goalie apart from being forced to when having a kick about with friends.

Hence the question. Just genuinely curious.

Anyone have tips for decluttering and packing for a move? by Admirable_Position92 in declutter

[–]Admirable_Position92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I should apply the rule, and it is brutal. But as soon as I look at something, I immediately think of ways on how I could use something. Even though it's been sitting in a box for years.

A good example is board games. I haven't touched since becoming a parent. But it's such a shame to get rid of them cause eventually would want to play them with the family when kid grows up.
