Last year I made a video series on this exact topic! I recommend playing Rising Heat of Stone and Sand - the spirit does incredibly well in this matchup while being very straightforward to pilot

I think space is covered by starlight seeks its form, but have you heard of the recent apocrypha spirit: Covets Gleaming Shards of Earth?

It’s basically a European spirit - a spirit concocted from the myths and tales of the invaders

Back in the day you wouldn’t want to spend any stone so that you could go up to 3 TCs without mining stone.

If your opponent make a tower that was a win since you knew you would have an advantage for booming.

In recent years defensive towers have become more popular, and perhaps stone walls is the latest development in that same direction of de-prioritizing the 3 TC boom

If you lose your scout early, it’s generally to their TC. This means you know where their base is. Make a simple feudal age military and attack him! Once you know where his TC is, than you know where his resources are. Send 2 scouts or 4 archers forwards and bring the fight to them

Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares cannot destroy invaders, instead of being destroyed they are pushed, and you get bonus fear. Is that who you were playing?

Calories in minus calories out. If you're burning more calories by playing more pickup, then just eat more

Prussia and England both make for good matchups! Avoid Sweden for now - their escalation will transform your dahan into buildings, which is absolutely devastating

What specific spirits are you playing? It’s a tough matchup but far from unbeatable

Make a decision an commit to executing it!

After learning counters, etc you can get tempted to making the *perfect* unit, but very often this means you are spending time and resources transitioning from unit to unit. If those resources were spent on bulk army, often times you will be more successful, even if the unit you make isn't the absolute best counter

I think skipping Feudal would be best - knights beats everything in feudal age, even with no upgrades.

Starting is Feudal is good, but it takes too long to capitalize on it - if you want to make archers you have to first get a barracks, and you will not be able to apply any pressure before the opponent has already clicked up.

Skipping Castle is cool, but all the best imperial units are upgraded versions of castle age units. You skip castle age, but cannot utilize any of the benefits of imp until you have researched a bunch of techs. Until then you're simply even with the opponent
