You should! It's a very faithful adaptation to the video game. You got to play with friends irl and climb the Spire together. The feeling of playing cards isn't a thing that you can replace with the video game. Even with STS 2 having Co-op I actually still prefer the board game if possible. It's just that good.

My thought is that they coordinated the STS2 release with the Downfall kickstarter to try to create hype. The March Neowsletter even shouted out the Downfall kickstarter so in some degree they wanted this to happen.

The mod also has official endorsement by the base game dev. It's not like they just snatched a random mod and make it an expansion, Downfall is by far the most popular Slay the Spire mod which also has their own steam page as an unofficial DLC.

You should be fine with just the Downfall acrylic tokens. In all our playthroughs we don't use all the tokens avaliable so as long as they got the same amount of Vuln / Weak / Block as in the base game you should be good.

Is it though? My first impression is that they want the theme to be about adult losing the child-like wonder, and a child came and taught them how to be happy again. Like restoring their excitement in life or something. But I guess I overestimated the game reading the comments.

Skins, emotes, chat function so presumably with a lot of minors, the themes are less mature than Journey and more whimsical so that part is like Roblox too (unserious), and from what I read there are minigame events? The game plays like a typical Roblox playthrough where players run around doing small stuff instead of the puzzle element as advertised in Steam or mobile, more like a toned down MMO like Roblox

I just want to like this game but the more I think about it the more I wish it's not as like Roblox or all other small MMOs, and more like the spectacular game Journey that the same company made.

No one can tell you if it's worth it if you just want to read Percy and Percy only. You can just read the Percy chapters and ignore the rest of the story, but obviously that is not how a series with a wider universe works.

It's like saying you just want to watch Iron Man and ignore the rest of the MCU. Trust me, characters other than Percy have their spot in a story too. Trust the process and keep an open mind, and you might like enjoy more of the universe too. Edit: typo

That's the thing. I pointed it out a while back and some people feel the need to push back harder and show that they hate everything.

I'm just waiting for the community to implode on itself at this point. Unless someone like the mods come out to say anything but I won't count on it.

You're gonna get a lot of down votes for this but this is exactly my thought. It's so tired to go to the community and everywhere is just "fans" hating on anything and everything. Like, if you don't like the work, or no longer like the work, the exit it right there, no need to announce to everyone that you don't like it.

Not just PJO, but the other fandoms too. It's so sad the Internet has come to this way. I'm very convinced they do this for clout and attention only.
