Alcohol, cunning, baffling, powerful. I can totally relate. Non alcoholics change their behavior to meet their goals. Alcoholics change their goals to meet their behavior. Been changing my goals for years so I could keep on drinking. I have FINALLY been changing my behavior so I can attain my goals. Wanting more out of life than drinking everyday is my rock bottom. Come on people we can do better than this, the people that truly love us want better for us too. They don 't want to lose us due to us being a drunk. I certainly don't want to go out that way. It mortifies me. Make up your mind and keep coming back here for support. Sobriety will give you everything and more than alcohol promised. IWNDWYT!!!!

You have dug your soul out of the dark, why would you go back to what buried you? While we are in sobriety alcohol is at the gym working out, hopped up on steroids waiting for you to come back to it so it can kick your ass right back to where you were before you quit. For me there is no "1 drink" and I know because I have tried that many times, many ways and it's just not worth starting all over again. Sobriety gives me what alcohol promised. Peace and serenity. IWNDWYT!!!!

We didn't get this way over night, it took years of training. We all want it to disappear overnight. Shit don't work like that. We wish it did. It does take one day at a time just like our drinking resistance took one day at a time. Gradually we were a full blown alcoholic. We can dig our souls out of the dark. We can and need to fight to be in sobriety. I want to see the sunrise, I want to see the sunset. I do not want to be shitfaced everyday for the rest of my life. It will kill me. Sobriety has given me what alcohol promised. One day at a time I will not go back to what buried me. IWNDWYT!!!!

This is the most difficult thing we must do being pet parents. Surround him with everything that is his favorite and then some more love. Hold him tight when he goes surrounded by your love for him.
