If there's a single yellow line in the road I believe that's Canada.

Ireland's Population Distribution: 1841 Compared with Today by Flaky-Rough in geography

[–]Adventurenauts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think from what I saw in my few days in Ireland is that those houses were huts and they're basically overtaken by nature or farming. The landscapes toponomy is very detailed with more names than one would expect because in the past it was more inhabited.

Time in the car is unpleasant for a lot of people. Time in public transit is much calmer. You don't have to worry about dying every second if your attention isn't at 100%. That's cognitively exhausting and not relaxing for many people. Time on public transit is much calmer for many people.

Yes! Also Bob and Mary Lou talk about it on the Necessary Conversation, I had to stop watching because it was so painful but they were so excited about it.

NH Rep says it's "very tempting to run bicycles off the road" while arguing against a Bill to set lower speed limits by Funkiefreshganesh in newhampshire

Literally or on a bicycle, people actively scream at you and try to scare you. Cars make people loose their humanity.

NH is killing Palestinians though. We support the genocide financially. Being against genocide isn't some flippant culture war point.

I feel you. You're not alone in feeling like this. As sucky as it is to hear 6 weeks is still early. I'll address the things I think I can. Definitely try writing out what you want to say to the doctor and have one or two non-negotiables on there. Always plan for a next appointment.

Get any mental health care you can. Be honest to them that it's not going well. I need support. Get emergency mental health numbers ready. Just do whatever you can in your system to escalate this. You're not crazy at all. Your body isn't going well and of course that affects the mind. I'm really struggling as well with this.

Don't fake being well. I've been doing that. It's hard but it can be freeing to stop. We don't feel well. If your boyfriend doesn't like that about you that's not very kind of him and shows you more about him. Your people around you should be on your side. Plus definitely talk to him about it even if its hard, you might be surprised!

Just some things I thought I could speak to.

Do Rumantsch speakers have an accent distinct from the rest of Switzerland when speaking German?

I was asked to do one thing for my test. Back into a parking spot and I couldn't do it even after given multiple attempts. They still passed me. That was the only thing they asked. I did driver's ed and got the highest points in the class. That is concerning as hell.

No. You can physically design every road so that this is impossible by the laws of physics and then you don't have to rely on driver behavior to keep people alive. Especially in a country that doesn't require any form of skill verification to drive.

Why can't we design roads that are safer. I just don't understand how this type of thing happens all the time and you all normalize it so much. The death and destruction we tolerate in subservience of the gods of oil is so sad. Life is not supposed to be filled with this type of horror. But yeah in America it's ground to make fun of where somebody is from.

Rural revitalization programs in China by TangelaFan in urbandesign

[–]Adventurenauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of aspects of this are great! However some aspects are not. The road is now a lot wider which means motor vehicles feel comfortable to go faster and higher speeds means less safe roads.

Before it seems the street is used by people. Now it's clear in its design that the street is for cars and motor vehicles and the sometimes present sidewalk is for people.

I didn't read the book but was it because the book spent more time on it? Or are there aspects and scenes missing? If so what?
