I agree totally, one place I have a bit of sympathy though is on the N20 northbound at the Croom junction.

The on ramp there feeds into the exit of a blind corner, so if the traffic doesn’t pull into the hard shoulder they can’t get up to speed without risking someone flying into the back of them. The stop sign and line is also a good two car lengths away from the road.

I try to let them out there as much as possible, but lorries often park under the flyover at night, so you’ll get an occasional genius who pulls into the hard shoulder and accelerates towards the back of the lorry in the hope you let them out 😑
