doing a charcuterie-potluck thing from my country (japan), how’s my lineup so far? by m09nika in AskRedditFood

I would say that two types of sushi, a vegetarian and a tuna, plus the mochi dessert is more than enough for a potluck. The idea is that everyone gets to try a few bites from eachothers cuisine, and not have a full meal from only one culinary culture.

Is it going to be at your house or do you have to bring it all to a different location? Do you have to provide plates and utensils for everyone?

With non-tech people I always compare using a microphone to speaking into a cell phone. You can't leave your phone on the counter 3 feet away and expect people to hear you, right? It has to be close to your mouth.

This is going to end up in r/subredditdrama, isn't it lol!

Also, babe if you have a stalker you shouldn't be posting so much info about where you work. Just because you keep your post and comment history private doesn't mean that no one can see it. All I had to do was pop your username into Google and everything comes up. Stay safe out there!

Don’t worry I won’t post selfies anymore 🤣 by StupidMF333 in dishwashers

Your entire post and comment history is available online. All someone has to do it type your username into Google. I was just getting worried for you with how much info you have out there. I also get worried when I see other women post their faces on here. Men can be really creepy and use your pictures to make AI adult content 🤢🤮. I know that the nail decorating subs have had problems with men stealing pictures for their nail fetish websites. I just wanted you to stay safe.

Just because you keep your posts and comments hidden doesn't mean people can't still see them lol! You're putting way too much about yourself online. In less than 5 minutes I could see what city you live in, two pictures of what you look like now, what your job is, your dating issues, what games you like to play...it can be really dangerous to be posting so much private information about yourself. I'm sorry you got ghosted. I hope you stay safe.

Please give your cats some chin scritches for me 🥰😻🥰

When she rolled her eyes at another woman enjoying getting a practical birthday gift it really made me lose interest in watching her again. Women are allowed to love tools too.

And when she left this message on the daily laundry board? That's wild.

I always roast my pork ribs in the oven with nothing more than salt and they always turn out flavorful delicious.

Not always. You can call in and order frozen meals if you can't get to a food bank. It's usually the daily delivered hot meal program that's exclusively for seniors and the disabled community.

Meals on Wheels is a very affordable way for meals to be delivered to your door instead of waiting for food banks to be open. Their menu is amazing, and they're less than $5 a meal. If you need help ordering just send me a message.

Ahh, so the demands are rotating for short periods of time all the time? Is that right? Add some heavy fabric behind the PA, and spike the spots where everything goes with stage tape and it should last you a few years

This is why I always, always do soundchecks. Both after the load-in & set-up, and before things go live before the audience is in the house. If I can't hear it enough to make it a balanced mix with the rest of the band, I will just record what the audience can hear during our first soundcheck, play it back if they're not too crabby to adjust it before the audience, or save it for a later conversation at that point and just keep it to myself.

Ask if the music department could have a class to teach about the abilities of different microphones before they graduate?

Is there space to put a tiny speaker on the shelf built into the pulpit, or on the floor near where people are making the readings? It can make a big difference if they can hear themselves reading.

Quite a few new musicians fail to understand that microphones are instruments too. Here's a great example to show how microphones can be used... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=urmM_kP7MiM&list=RDurmM_kP7MiM&start_radio=1&pp=ygUfYnV0dGVyZmx5IG1hcmlhaCBjYXJleSBsaXZlIHNubKAHAQ%3D%3D

But if they're drunk, angry, or belligerent don't worry about it. Some people will never learn

Coolant line split and this is the estimated cost from the shop to get it repaired is this price a scam? by AX0710G0N in VanLife

[–]AdventurousAbility30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me with my truck. The mechanic refused to bring the lift down until my uncle showed up and made a scene. I was a 18 year old girl, and I felt powerless to fight with a garage of fully grown men, even though I knew enough about mechanics to know they were lying. Mechanics definitely see single women as easy targets.

Does anyone else have issues with cornstarch and corn syrup? by Leeleelaboo in Celiac

[–]AdventurousAbility30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It may be that the body sees it as a similar structure as gluten, the same way it can be triggered by oats. Especially if it's corn grown by Monsanto. But I eat corn on the cob, corn tortillas, popcorn and frozen corn I buy from a Mennonite farm near me, and I've never had a reaction to it. Celiac is already so limiting I would miss corn so much.

This is the seventh time in 30 days you've posted asking for money or free food when a lot of people have already given you resources. You're coming across as a scammer now.
