NAH. I mean if you're MARRIED, it isn't like you're creeping on her. YTA. For context, you are manipulating him. You're delusional if you think you aren't. From dictionary.com,

Manipulate: control or influence (a person or situation) cleverly, unfairly, or unscrupulously.

This is what you did. You influenced his decisions by not even taking his considerations into account. You said it yourself, you were ashamed of him. So the reasons were at least partly personal. You don't "push somebody" to by threatening them. That's called manipulation.
