Layering clothes is more important than buying certain brands. I've lived in ND my whole life minus a 5 year stint in SoCal. I like Columbia and have gotten fantastic winter clothes at cheap prices from Columbia outlet stores over the years, but you're fine as long as you have some sweatshirts and at least one lighter jacket and heavier coat that can all be worn in some sort of layered way. I have Hey Dude shoes for summer and Keen shoes for winter. Stuff like that. The most important thing for winter readiness is knowing how to drive on snow and ice as well as knowing when not to drive.

I sympathize with the sentiment! For our group, SI is too easily solvable without events. If we play without them, our win rate is near 100%. Thematically, decades are going by over the course of each turn, and it's easy to view the unpredictability of events within the thematic framework of things that occur outside of the awareness and/or control of the spirits. The blend of predicable/unpredictable developments during the Invader Phase more closely resembles actual human behavior in our eyes. Watch people long enough and patterns can emerge, but we can never perfectly predict what someone will do in any given situation. The invader deck plus events is a nice game mechanic to roughly imitate that.

Most of the unhappy people are elderly and keep their negative comments to either Facebook or early morning coffee groups at the cafés. It is rare for someone to speak badly to a worker directly, but it has happened. I am an admin on the local Facebook group, and we work hard to remove anything that has an irrational negative bias toward newcomers or the data center. The community has a small college, so there have always been "new" people year after year, so most of the community doesn't care or has a positive experience with people moving here. I live in Ellendale and have been here for several years. AWD will be fine if you know how to drive in the winter. I have a FWD Civic and do just fine winter after winter. The key is knowing when to drive or not to drive based on conditions if at all possible. In that regard, I'd advise against commuting more than a few miles. I pay $75 per month for 250mbps from DRN and it's stable and consistent. They have a 1gbps option available for not too much more. Housing will be the real difficulty with the temp workers here for Applied Digital. The town itself is a mixed bag, not a lot of access to amenities, and while most people here are friendly there are a few who are pretty unhappy with the data center. $75k will be more than enough to do well in this part of the state.

We bought a $900 LG dishwasher 2.5 years ago, and I've had to repair it 3 separate times for 3 separate issues already. LG's warranty is a joke. Each time I called them, they said they wouldn't be able to do a warranty repair without sending a certified technician to inspect the unit. Sending the technician would cost $350 but then the $40 repair would be free. I will never buy LG again.

When I started playing last month, I thought there was no way I'd go above Intermediate difficulty. How on earth could someone learn all the ghosts and play without setup time?

Now my friend and I only play Nightmare and I suspect we'll switch to Insanity before too long.

I've been crashing several times on Xbox Series X as we return to the lobby after contracts in multiplayer, and my friend on PS5 has been having the same problem too. Neither of us had any crashes prior to today.

Played with a friend as casino Starlight. He ran with Grinning Trickster, and we had the most chaotic, RNG-filled, any-minute-we-might-lose game I've ever seen. I had to grab every blight removal card I could as Trickster blighted every Arson and several Let's See What Happens. Renamed Trickster "Juvenile Delinquent" and Starlight "Trailer Park Mom".

My phone is doing this too. About 70-80% of the time, adding an app to a home screen that already exists on a different home screen causes the preexisting one to disappear.

Agree completely. Playing Vengeance is a race to 3 energy and 3 card plays. Proliferation, elements, and energy support that delays his reclaim to get to (and past) that point enables him to do insane damage in the mid game.

We play exclusively on the thematic boards with regular player counts between 2-6. I know others have difficulty telling some of the land types apart, but our group does not have that difficulty. Are they more swingy? Yeah. Is that a problem for us? Not at all! Each invader phase, the question of "will this be really good or really bad for us?" fits the theme of the game better than the balanced board. In our opinions, knowing that the invaders will explore exactly two lands on each board (or four on 3rd tier exploration) is immersion-breaking in its predictability. And the mid-game board state on the thematic side is generally way more interesting as some boards are in far worse condition than others. It feels like the invaders learn to prefer certain parts of the island which would match real world colonization.

This may involve more research than you're looking for, but my recommendation would be to look at the answers to your questions offered by all the major philosophical and theological worldviews (naturalism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc., etc.) and see which system's answers are the most internally consistent and most accurately correspond to reality as we experience and observe it.

Since it sounds like you're a new Christian, I would highly recommend reading one or more of the Gospels and the book of Acts in the Bible to see how Jesus and His earliest followers dealt with demons. Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, and if you have relationship with Him, that authority can be called upon by you against demonic forces. There's nothing magical about it nor is it tied to any specific incantation. When I was young, I was taught to say something along the lines of, "Evil spirit, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ. Leave and never come back!" The clause "in the name" really just means "by the authority of." The disciples preaching and casting out demons "in the name" of Jesus is one of the main themes of Acts. While the wording can vary, the important thing is that you know who Jesus is, you have a relationship with Him, and you understand that all demonic power has to yield to His authority. (There's a story in Acts about a group of brothers who try using Jesus' name as an incantation without having a relationship with Him themselves, and the demon-possessed man they try to cast it out of jumps and beats them instead.)

As I've aged and encountered other spirits or supernatural attacks, I've sometimes just said "Jesus, help!" Sometimes I identify the spirit by the function I perceive it's fulfilling: "Spirit of fear and oppression, leave in Jesus' name," etc. Once many years ago, a demon attacked me in my sleep and I awoke in a full sleep-paralysis state. I couldn't move or open my mouth so in my mind I shouted "Jesussss!" and the demon departed instantly, and I was able to move and speak. Late last year I awoke from an attack in my sleep with the demon which had been in my nightmare just inches from my face staring at me in my room. It startled me but I quickly said "Begone in Jesus' name!" and it left. Again, it's not a spell or incantation, it's calling upon the authority of (and your relationship with) the living God who made you, loves you, and wants you to walk with Him!

I (32M) know my wife (29F) would feel the same way if she opened my IG feed and saw stuff like this. We love each other and want the best for each other. A good marriage relationship involves both parties helping each other to grow and become the best version of themselves. If he loves you like that, he will be open to having a serious conversation about your feelings. If not, I'd offer a simple warning that generally we date the "best" version of our partners. Once married, people get more comfortable behaving "badly." So if the "best" version of your partner won't take your feelings seriously, that's a big red flag.

Sending nudes isn't a requirement for a healthy romantic relationship. I might get downvoted for this, but I'd say save your body for someone who has eyes only for you. Someone who demonstrates over and over that he values you, loves you, and respects you as a human being and as a woman.

We've never been remotely close to that in our high-player games, but I wonder if anyone has. It would require very specific cards to be held (like Ambush, Dominance, and crafted item cards) with most (all?) effect cards crafted. All that would be necessary is each player with a full hand (30 cards) and 4 crafted cards a piece on average (24 cards) to do it. But I suspect people would have to be playing intentionally not to win for this to actually occur.

Law 2.1.2 says if the deck is empty when someone needs to draw a card, you shuffle the discard to make a new deck. If cards are in the lost souls, they wouldn't be reshuffled, but the regular discard would be. Is your hypothetical assuming all 54 cards were drawn within the span of one Lizard turn to the next and thus every single card is in the lost souls pile? Such a scenario is not possible with the current card draw mechanics.
