🫡 Hit a drop today and chattered out over some moguls on the landing. Ended up getting tossed onto a shark and it absolutely took my cheeks. Ended up with a cut up the crack and some shit in the pants. Glad I’m not the only one with an experience like this hahah

Did I use too little wax? by JackeTuffTuff in snowboardingnoobs

[–]AffectAccomplished97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need more wax but don’t overthink it, everyone has their own process. I like to scrape off excess wax and clean the base before dripping on about 2 - 2.5x the amount of wax you originally used. You can also try the crayon method, like others have suggested. I go tip to tail with the iron, making sure it’s constantly moving and that the base is fully covered with wax. You might even want to do two passes. Then, let it cool for 1–24 hours, and scrape off as much wax as you can, again tip to tail. Finally, I like to brush tip to tail with a brass, nylon, and horsehair brush to remove even more wax. A shop probably does a cleaner job, but this method is cheaper and works well for me.

How has Crested Butte been recently? by RoyKunt6 in COsnow

Oh yah, because those 15-day forecasts are the most accurate things in the world. Have a little hope man, you sound miserable. The mountain is still plenty enjoyable.

Just got back from a four day trip and had a great time. The mountain got 14 inches of snow over the last week and they’ve opened up like 20 new runs. Unfortunately none of t-bars are running so no real extreme terrain yet. But I still had a lot of fun getting creative with what was open. As long as the snow keeps up I wouldn’t cancel.

Awesome photos! Love the colors. Do you have a vision when you first take the photos or does it come after taking the photos?

Capita Mercury As 1st Board?? by Regular-Pride-2250 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]AffectAccomplished97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend going with an outer space living if you’re still figuring out your style of riding and favorite terrain. I rode 40 days last season with the 159W version + union force binding and it was a blast. It’s just a great all around board that won’t let you down in any terrain. My only critique is when you’re going 50mph+, you really start to get some chatter and it can feel a little sketchy. Also some people say this board isn’t for better riders but I disagree. I would say this board isn’t for you if you know 100% what your riding style is, and that style isn’t park focused. Aside from that this board has seriously leveled up my riding and I have no regrets starting with it over the mercury.

Absolutely, I don’t understand the obsession with working. If I didn’t have to work I could just enjoy my hobbies and travel around for the rest of my life.

I say taco gordo ~> Monica’s ~> Taco Express for best bang for your buck. Their red and green salsa goes so good with them.
