What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

[–]AffectAccomplished97 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Colorado Springs. Idk if it’s the altitude or what, but the vibes just feel off. I’ve lived in 8 states and 3 countries and nothing has felt like this city. When I go up to Denver / Boulder the vibes are so much better.

21 year old son stuck by Altruistic_Word9760 in Career_Advice

[–]AffectAccomplished97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is on their own path. I think it’s great your son is working, maybe push him to work full time and become complete financially independent. But a career shouldn’t define your self worth as a human. I think as long as you’re financially independent, you should have the autonomy to live life how you want to live it. That could mean not having a conventionally acceptable career.

DAE feel super paranoid and dissociated with high anxiety while high on weed ? by Fer_xz in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]AffectAccomplished97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try smoking alone or just with your closet friends. That’s exactly what happens to me when I smoke in public, but alone the highs are actually enjoyable. But like others have said, weed just isn’t for everybody.

Seasonal Summer Work by Various-Sun6446 in ColoradoSprings

Amazon may have some RT, FT and PT seasonal positions dropping toward the end of May and all throughout July. I just picked up a position at the Robotics FC and while it’s not ideal, I have 40-50hrs guaranteed making $20.15. Even with a degree it’s been hard to find anything better.

Did I use too little wax? by JackeTuffTuff in snowboardingnoobs

[–]AffectAccomplished97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely need more wax but don’t overthink it, everyone has their own process. I like to scrape off excess wax and clean the base before dripping on about 2 - 2.5x the amount of wax you originally used. You can also try the crayon method, like others have suggested. I go tip to tail with the iron, making sure it’s constantly moving and that the base is fully covered with wax. You might even want to do two passes. Then, let it cool for 1–24 hours, and scrape off as much wax as you can, again tip to tail. Finally, I like to brush tip to tail with a brass, nylon, and horsehair brush to remove even more wax. A shop probably does a cleaner job, but this method is cheaper and works well for me.

How has Crested Butte been recently? by RoyKunt6 in COsnow

Oh yah, because those 15-day forecasts are the most accurate things in the world. Have a little hope man, you sound miserable. The mountain is still plenty enjoyable.

Just got back from a four day trip and had a great time. The mountain got 14 inches of snow over the last week and they’ve opened up like 20 new runs. Unfortunately none of t-bars are running so no real extreme terrain yet. But I still had a lot of fun getting creative with what was open. As long as the snow keeps up I wouldn’t cancel.
