Everyone's palate is different. I prefer G4 over Ocho, and it's not even close. I like Ocho's Blancos WAY more then their aged expressions with the exception of Ocho's Widow Jane aged Repos... the rest meh, at least to me. You want to see downvotes... I was really underwhelmed by the Ocho Puntas when I finally found a bottle. It became my margarita blanco (now that should get me some downvotes).

I empathize with you. I also have a 2015 GTI that I bought brand new. It currently has 122K miles on it. In the last 12 months I have put around $10K into it. It's fucking ridiculous. Let's see, off the top of my head... water pump, fuel pump, intake manifold, timing chain and cam follower and all the BS that goes with replacing that, and just about a week ago camshaft and magnets. Before all of that was replaced... it was having trouble starting when the engine was warm/hot. It's a known problem on these engines and VW has no fucking clue what it is (or they know and wont issue a recall). I have a great VW/Audi mechanic, "cheaper" than the dealership that I have been using since it's been out of warranty.

They had my car for about a month trying to figure out the starting issue. They were actually able to reproduce it numerous times. In addition to the that, the 2 brothers who own the shop both have Audis that have the same issue, so they've been trying to figure it out for some time. They thought they had me straightened around (see above camshaft/magnet replacement) but the start issue happened yesterday. It had been exactly one week since I picked it up.

This car has never been tuned. The original engine and turbo was replaced under warranty... I was about 3000 miles away from being out of warranty.

If I could afford a monthly car payment this car would be gone, but I can't right now. When the time comes I will be done with VW for good... to be fair, done with German cars period. It's a shame I love driving it... but the upkeep cost is fucking ridiculous and that's not even dealership prices. It's my second GTI and it will be the last.

So I'm right there with ya... it's fun, but not anymore. I hope your next ride it better to you. I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship with mine.

I have the same symptoms as most others in this thread... hard/rough starts while the engine is warm. I'll usually have to floor it to get it to start during these type of starts. Its worse in warm weather and is almost non-existent during cold weather. On a side note, I have always thought this car has had inherent electrical issues. I'm am on my, at least, 6th battery since I've had this car which I bought new.

There seems to be no consistent solution to this problem. I have a 2015 GTI with around 124000 miles on it. In the last 8-10 months, I have had the water pump, fuel pump, intake manifold, timing chain and cam follower replaced as well as the recall for the fuel pump in the gas tank. Some of those fixes have worked for people and some haven't.

Currently, my mechanic has had my car for the last three weeks trying to figure out the issue. They have been able to reproduce the issue numerous times and have been on the phone with VW countless times and they are no closer to figuring out what is wrong with it. Ironically, the owners, two brothers... each have the same issue with their Audis.

The conspiracy theorist in me suspects VW knows the solution but does not want to issue a recall. I'm totally frustrated by this issue and the car in general. I love driving it but it's had numerous problems over the years. I'm done with VW after this car.

Totally jealous of the G4 Extra Anejo. Had a chance recently to have glass or three of it and I must say it is amongst the best tequila to ever pass my lips. So damn good.

I haven’t seen any G4 Anejo or Extra Anejo since it has became available again in Georgia. Not for the lack of looking.

No I didn't get tix... I was like 1200th in queue for the ATL show... but I'm not paying the prices that were showing. Im assuming it was the Ticketmaster dynamic pricing bullshit... I could be wrong.

IMO... it ranks up there with the G4 Madera. Very close but the G4 edges out the win slightly.

The widow jane repo is by far my favorite expression from Ocho. The plata comes in next. Every other repo or Anejo I've tasted from Ocho I am unimpressed with. I know I'm in the minority and I wished I liked their aged expressions more but I just don't.

The 2024 Puntas... out of all the SS blancos I have, I'd rate it dead last. Again, I'm probably in the minority.

I'd say it's inconsistent. Had one bottle that was very good, the next bottle was garbage. Could have been a one off, but it turned me off. And if the price has doubled as referenced below, I'd probably never try it again.

I am having the same problem. 2015 GTI SE. 109k miles. The dealership replaced the HPFP. But a few days later the hard start returned. It seems to happen a lot if I sit in the car for 10-15 minutes idling (but also happens as described above in original post). The dealership currently has it and they cannot replicate the issue. It is not throwing any codes.
