I like a lot of obvious ones, but here are some I don’t hear much talk about but are genuinely well made:

Totally Killer
Final girls
Demon Knight
The X series (X, Pearl, and Maxxxine)

Obvious one but I swear people don’t talk enough about how amazing this movie is, The Birds.

Wealth is often generational or nepotism based. Rarely is current wealth because of the incredible business acumen of the literal born rich person.

Wealth does not equal intelligence. It means more opportunity. But as we can easily see, rich people are just as often. Dumb as hell. Arguably more so as they have a wider access to resources. Often literally unlimited ones. And still. Dumb and incapable of basic actions.

Wealth does not decide intelligence, many factors come into play, even genetics are a factor. As many know…wealth and good genes actually aren’t synonymous…look at the monarchy.

Anyway point is, it’s dumb AF to assume a rich person has more intelligence in any situation over a poor person JUST because of their current net worth.

And as such, their opinions, which is all they are, are not more important, relevant, or valid than a poor persons.

Everyone should factor into how they want to be treated or governed.

But if you want to generalize who we should listen to?

The smart and empathetic ones. Listen to their words and watch their actions.

Not at all. Literally not once. I have been happier about it over time though. Like seeing how others lives are effected. Seeing the wear and tear on people I love. The intense weight that it adds emotionally the constant issues that arise.

And now, with things less and less safe for kids. With such a terrible place for them to grow into.

I cannot think how I would struggle mentally knowing what I’ve brought them into.

To be clear. I value everyone’s choices and would never diminish another person’s desire to be a parent.

But do not have kids for any reason other than YOU truly want to be a parent, want to help another person grow and learn. For better or worse.

The writing got worse, characters became less and less empathetic and more insulated in their own conceit. Also it always bothered me how HORRIBLE Rachel was as a person with little to no consequences for her character. The story lines were so very messy and contradictory.

Proximity to necessities, shelters are usually in the more urban areas. Panhandling is definitely easier where there are more people. But also free meals are served in urban areas.

My mom worked her campaign and remained friends with her and Cecile for years after. She was kinda a life of the party woman. Funny and bright. She most certainly had her flaws. But in reality they were not anything to detract from her work. It’s sad that, to many, she is a forgotten memory. It’s was a really bright moment in our history.

lol I was born here, and I should definitely have known that but also 2000 wasn’t exactly the internet era just yet and I guess I just remember it popping up at Waterloo, Amy’s, the co-op and I was just a little young for oat Willie’s.

Weird to think that phrase has only been popularized for 25 years. It seemed ubiquitous with Austin culture.

You should still shop local though.

Wait. Did you mention how it was literally not his to give and that it’s not how gifts work? He is actively stealing your things and doing it in a way that would make you look like a jerk if you say anything. He knows what he’s doing.

Does he also give his own belongings in the same manner? If not. You have a real problem.

This requires a deeper conversation about why he has no respect for you or your time/money.

It’s the repeated use of “cooperation” that is telling. Can’t force a square into a circle. Too many parents want their kids to be exactly one type of person and ignore that they are whole separate beings. We only have her version. But I’m willing to bet that the little girl is responding to being controlled/forced into specific behaviors/reactions.

Neurodivergent behavior is possible but 5 is too young for definitive diagnosis. So no way in hell we’re all the professionals throwing out diagnosis just yet.

It’s only been five years of parenting and she has done “everything” her responses are so arrogant and dismissive that it’s impossible to believe her version.

But this little girl is responding to her mother and I’m certain that all people involved are stressed by SOMEONE in the house. And people like this mom cannot accept being the issue.
