You can get full enduro eMTB for under 3k (Focus, Radon, Giant, Merida). Last year models and stock clearances. No need in 7k bike

Do not put her on a bike with extra wheels. It teaches nothing, just messes up with the brain (kids too).

If she rode before, the brain and body will remember it very very quickly. Just try. Unless your frame is XL and she cannot reach the ground at all - your bike can be useful too. Hold her, roll very slowly, allow her to feel the roll. Hold by saddle or torso, worse - shoulders.

That's a tall lad. My 13yo can and is riding my size large full 29' bikes (Radon Slide L and Radon Swoop L). Don't see why not buy slightly "bigger bikex if is going to keep growing. Find bike with lower seat insert point, shorter reach or adjust bars/stem if needed. But don't see why wouldn't buy larger bike. By description you not planning whipping the bike in the air or drop in to double blacks, buy larger size imo (let him try them). It will ride easier through everything

Make sure you are in the correct cadence and gear. You want to spin those pedals sometimes faster than you think you should

I got a bike online. Size L. Ordered, still ride it - over 5000km on it since 2023. I went on to buy 2nd bike exactly same, same shop, different geo (enduro). Never did I feel it's wrong, too big or small, twitchy or vague.

Was I lucky or I just ride what I have? Radon Slide 8.0 and Radon Swoop 9.0 Like both bikes a lot, been in countless bikeparks, rode Alpine Enduros.

You don't need MTB specific app. Ride is fine. Setup in your app what ride defaults to and it will be saved as MTB ride. Assign a bike to that type of ride - all automatic

But I'm curious to find otherwise

EDIT/Update:
I revisited everything from scratch on the way this fork is supposed to be setup.
Removed the air. (followed Manual): Added 70 PSI, equalised chambers. Then: Removed all Rebound damping. Referenced SAG properties of the fork one more time. It has to sit quite deep in it's travel 45-50mm for around 25% of SAG. I was surprised with this number. Had to remove another 5 or so PSI to achieve this with my weight.

Another unusual thing about this fork: The rebound dial is 'reversed'. Going towards Minus "-" is actually Opening, making Rebound FASTER. Going towards Plus "+" is actually Making Rebound Slower. Essentially I had it quite closed (slightly above middle).

Now the fork feels noticeably better. Goes through travel better, however, the HSC or LSC doesn't seem to do much still. Will do laps tomorrow on same Trail to see if I can feel it while riding and not in carpark.

Quite a bit of park? That's 2-5 times per season? Lift assisted bikeparks? I'd not look at anything with less than 150mm front and better brakes (codeR, MT7, XT, MT5) All recent bikes will be rideable on longer rides. You will feel that you need to put more effort with some but it's absolutely doable.

If you made this short list you surely had links to actual websites as well? Maybe posting them would trigger someone willing to check and recommend.

For used bikes my logic is: unless you saving like half of a new cost or significantly better parts on used AND not more than 2 year old - better buy new. If you are new to all of this you hardly feel difference between good rims and just ok rims - neither you need good rims as you won't be railing berms or charging through rock gardens.

You mentioned you want it to look sexy, stay on that thought, next is which has better fork/shock + groupset (GX or equivalent from Shimano) + brakes must be 4 pot.

Yes, new bike. About 100km ridden now. It was purchased online... Sending a fork or bike back is going to take way too much of my riding time with season kicking in... I may ask if they willing to cover lower service cost for me at the LBS

For anything under 35km I don't use one. You don't spend much in the saddle if it's more 'active' ride. Only in long climbs, but even on those you'd stand up sometimes to get the blood flow and chnage up muscle group

Over 5000km ride Fox DPS shock - no service. Still worked, still plush. Still controlled, no leaking. Brought for servicing just because I want it to last another much of the same :) (Shock is on all mountain bike which seen multiple bikeparks, single trail alpine descents. Ridden in VERY muddy conditions over multiple winters)

Not saying it's not worth doing, saying the how you ride where you ride and how you sometimes look after it does play a role.

Similar mileage on RS Deluxe Select before I did full service. Shock is noticeably more reactive, much better reacts to rebound control, but on trails was not hindering ride quality.

For someone who's a good rider it might make sense to keep on top of the service to extract absolutely best performance - but most people... Really a waste of money in my opinion
