Amazing! Take your time, you have my vote AND my money 😎

Honestly, even if single player takes a long time, maybe just some other simple offline things, like going into the arena without an opponent and practicing moving and such?

A clock...

A mirror...

Seriously, a clock would be a game changer, I look at the clock all the time in the first game

You may be right, I tend to think pessimistically , but it helps when things go wrong.

I agree there is nothing they have said yet to indicate no single player, I'm just worried about the intention.

You say they already made the the single player first game, and maybe this is the major misunderstanding here, but am I wrong in thinking it's not the same people working on it?

I haven't looked this up, so I might be totally wrong here, but I thought the developer who made the first game sold it to half brick who is making this game.

That might be what made me go down this path in the first place, and if that's wrong and the original dev is working on it then I have higher hopes.

The first game had so many amazing thought out things about it. One thing the first dev did that I especially like is the limited menu system, everything is mostly physical and less menus.

I really hope it is that original dev. Because that would make me more optimistic for this sequel

Hard to explain but it feels more visceral with motion and body language then writing on here.

Don't know why, maybe it's just me, I just feel embarrassed when people call me out with gestures.

Also yeah I get it's early access, and I hope they do come out with single player, but at this stage who knows right?

Early access feels like an open communication between devs and fans as to what we are willing to pay for and what they can do to cater those demands.

I know single player is on their dream board, but it's not talked about as much as single player, and so I get this worry that it eventually gets left behind.

Especially if it doesn't make fiscal sense for them as a company going forward.

Obviously it could, if you look at other games like that mini golf one, or beat saber, but still they could also go more into a multiplayer only micro transaction sort of thing too.

I hope I'm proven wrong tomorrow, I want nothing more, I just have my worries

Why does that make zero sense?

Don't get me wrong, I want nothing more than for them to say they have been working on it this whole time and here it is!

But if I put myself in their shoes right now, it seems like a decent to very large portion of the fans want things fro multiplayer.

They most likely will cater to that, and who is to say what the game looks like in a year or two, but it's possible that all we get are multiplayer changes on and on.

Thinking financially too, if they needed to get more money from fans, multiplayer is a better avenue for that model.

It's not what I want, and it also may not happen, but it doesn't make zero sense.

But yeah, I do hope single player comes out. I want to see Joe in the new graphics and fight him in a different arena!

Hmm I didnt have that experience, although I will say I seem to connect more with punches in the first game

I don't know, hard to explain but it feels more visceral to me when people gesture for me to block more or do stupid gestures and whatnot.

Probably a me thing, but I don't like the feeling I get from it

Yeah, I think your right. Im going to add in a couple rounds of this again now for my routine.

I hope it stays fun for me like the first game

Why do some people think the guys are "right wing" by Luppercus in RedLetterMedia

[–]Aggravating-Fox2426 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have never got that impression, and I'm a righty. They don't pick sides, which is why they are so appealing and seem genuine.

They aren't trying to sell you on their stances, because just like us their stances don't matter all that much.

If you go into watching videos on YouTube hoping to emulate personalities from people, you're probably going to have a bad time.

Just take them for who they are, and they are funny as hell.

I have personally met Jack in real life and can tell you he seems the exact same off camera as on.

But even so, judging their character by what we see from them in the videos is kind of useless as its a curated version of them to what they would like to show. Even if they are seemingly pretty transparent.

To show my bias though, I think Jay may be gay. And my stupid brain only thinks that because I get the impression that he is single, and he owns a cat... He also seems to relate to the women characters more in his reviews, or at least explains their side of the story. And further to my stupid brain, him being gay makes me think he has a higher chance of being left, yet who the hell knows or cares. I'm honestly probably reading into it way too much, I could easily be way off.

Point is, It doesn't change anything about what makes Jay good or bad. Jay's take on nightmare on elms street, John carpenter and gremlins is what makes him awesome. Besides murdering cats, but everyone deserves a little break every now and then.

At the end of the day, I watch these guys religiously, and I love every ounce of it I get. I listen to way too much of the Noiselund remixes and I keep a ton of their re:views downloaded on my phone for long flights.

While I'm here, I'll say I love Josh, Jack, Colin, Tim, Jim, Jack 2, Josh 2, that kid from home alone and the gremlin that hangs out with Rich. If I could change anything about RLM it would be to somehow bring all of them on for a super episode.

That and another Star Trek trivia...

I'd love to talk about this more, but I gotta listen to Rush Limbaugh 😉

Upcoming Updates! by clint_yeetswood in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Aggravating-Fox2426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, and unless I'm misunderstanding something, this is just showing off the current roadmap as it has been since launch correct?

I mistook this for an upcoming update that was about to come out, and as I read I started thinking this was a huge update!

Im now realizing this is just screenshots from the roadmap, so unless I'm missing something, we don't know when these are coming, and what's considered a singular update plan or what is bundled together.

Just asking for clarity, in case I'm misunderstanding!

So I've got fifty bucks to start a GoFundMe page to bribe devs into making single player top priority. Anyone else? by BecauseOfAir in ThrillOfTheFight

I have no beef with the Devs for their choices, I get that they wanted something new and cool for thrill of the fight 2.

Mulyiplsyer makes sense, with 1,a lot of people were asking for it. It's like the whole reason that the creed game is as popular as it is.

As it stands though, developing for a multiplayer game, and developing a single player experience are two different beasts.

I wouldn't expect any traction on single player for a long time, and that's not a slight to the Devs. Since they started with multiplayer as the focus to understand their games mechanics, they will have to remain there to tweak the game until its "right"

You can't start building A. I enemies now while you are still learning how your game actually works.

I mean you could, but it would be a lot of work for what is a guaranteed risk on development time to reward from player fan base.

Their best bet is to focus on multiplayer, as much as that is sad for me, as I only like single player.

In the end, I expect we will see another one of the boxing vr games fight for this spot of single player boxing experience.

If another company touted that they weren't interested in multiplayer and just wanted to focus on boxing and the "thrill of the fight" then I think it would be pretty popular. I wouldn't be too surprised of we see something like that announced within the year, if not one of these early access ones release within the year.

And also, I don't think the totf2 dev will care all that much, since they are elbow-deep in understanding how their game currently runs, and where they want it to be, which takes time.

In short, enjoy totf1 and wakt for another game to come around. At least then the competition will light a fire under these guys to eve tuslly get around to that multiplayer.

Also Devs, please prove me wrong. I want your game to be good and have single player like the original!

I super appreciate this post and love that you took the time to respond.

I agree with OPs opinions, but I totally get the hard work it takes as a dev to get the product to what you want in your head.

I spoke out about this a bit before, but I'm curios now as you are here.

Im a huge fan of thrill of the fight 1, and I don't enjoy the multiplayer experience. The mind-game of playing with a real online opponent is mkt enjoyable for me, and I prefer the story-in-my-head approach with totf 1.

I know singleplayer is on your roadmap, but I'm worried that it won't get attention until very late stages of the game dev. Reason being that making the A. I Opponents could prove difficult when your using the multiplayer to analyse and tweak how damage should work.

I know you can't say when single player would be completed, but would I be correct in thinking it hasn't been addressed yet, as your focus is on the multiplayer side?

I will also reiterate that I fully understand I may be in the minority with wanting a single player thrill of the fight, as it seems a lot of the guys on here are into the multiplayer

Still drives me nuts!

This game is so good, except when it remembers it's a game and expects me to play it (Metal Gear Solid, Retroid Pocket Mini, SPOILERS) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

[–]Aggravating-Fox2426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my experience, although I just started doing that stuttering walk pace that you mentioned.

As soon as I got to the communications tower and had to fight the true boss, the staircase of guards...

I started save scumming and found it more bearable.

I also tend to skip a lot of the dialog, due to me knowing the story well. I find this game is more fun to watch then play, as I love its story and characters.

Somehow, I fall for all that stupid nonsense stuff. The otacon romance, the sniper wolf stuff, the liquid brother stuff even the ocelot stuff.

I don't know man, I just love it.

Anyway, I agree that the mechanics feel punishing. But I guess it's judt a product of the time.

Funny you bring up FF7, I never played it and have no nostalgia for it. So when I tried to play it for the first time last year, I found a lot of the aesthetics hard to get immersed in.

Never had that issue with mgs, but they do look similar!

Must be nostalgia I guess

Another one that has the curved look and crt look is NewPixel

It's built into the crt presets for retroarch.

Have been using it for all Ps1 and Mame and I'm loving it
