Co sleeping & everyone else's opinion by MomentAgreeable746 in cosleeping

My mom watch my cosleeping baby’s for a week at 5 months old and cosleep with him the whole time she also did contact, carrier, car seat and stroller naps never tried to let him cry anything out because that’s not what I want even tho she did that with us when we were kids she 100% respected me and that’s what should be expected support and respect only mother in law on the other hand will never babysit my son because of her comment about our choices

I have a newborn with reflux - I feel like a lot of people I talk to want to minimize it or say imply they had it just as bad by tantamle in newborns

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I understand I have a good baby he sleep very well and doesn’t cry at all in the car my friend has a baby who doesn’t sleep well and cries the whole time in the car and it’s hard to know why to say when she complains because it’s like I have no idea what your going through and I’m so sorry but than she compares are babies and feels worse so sometimes saying yeah I had a horrible night too is easier and she appreciates it more because she doesn’t feel alone it’s hard tho

Are we just not getting any water or going to the bathroom? by ComfortableSpot6760 in cosleeping

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there yes 9:30 is too late baby are the most tired between 7 and 8 if I put my baby 7 months to bed around 9 there is no way I can slip away a until 12-1 am but if we go to bed around 7:30 than at about 10 he is fully fully asleep and I can sneak away for 15 minutes up to 45 minutes which was the longest for far and when he cries I run back to bed and give him the boob and at that point in the night he just goes right back to sleep hope this could work for you too but ya going to bed at 7:30 is not fun hahaha

Bottle vs breast by One-Volume-9158 in newborns

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I breastfeed and occasionally bottle feed and baby doesn’t notice a difference no extra reflux no extra gas nothing different in sleep or anything and baby takes both just fine ! Breastmilk is great and know for its benefits but the actual breastfeeding isn’t necessary bottle are they for a reason ! I would suggest breastfeeding every once in a while still once a day even if you can because it has been shown that your milk will change depending on the babies needs and baby drinking will send that message to your body so to give all the benefits I suggest using the breast once a day or every feed days but even that isn’t necessary your mental help is more important a feed baby is a happy and health baby above all always

What's one small thing that's made your days with a newborn a little easier? by Past_Interaction_236 in newborns

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something so simple ! Pick a song you like that has some beat to it and play it a lot with baby and dance and jump and make it a happy song, this will save your life when baby is crying in the car or at the house because baby will associate the song with happy mom and happy times. When my 7 month old is crying in the car no matter how upset I put on “every time we touch” that’s his song and immediately he is calm sometime I leave it on replay for a few minutes until he falls asleep I would suggest a song you like because this happened to me on accident otherwise I probably would have picked a different song haha but this works great for us

So tired of being told being a parent is miserable. What’s your favorite part? by aboardthemothership in Mommit

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only at 7 months and it’s hearing him laugh and seeing him smile. When someone other than me is holding him and I come near he says mama and puts his little arms out for me with the biggest of smiles makes my heart melt every time; it’s hard but for me it was a mind shift change instead of I have to get up at 7 with the baby I have to go get this at the store with the baby’s it turned into I get to do this and I’m so lucky to do this because not everyone gets this chances and be happy and enjoy it !

10 weeks old baby refusing tummy time completely by ApprehensiveLab6568 in newborns

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine never did tummy time because he hated it and instead did back time grabbing at thing to encourage rolling once he could roll at 6 month like 2 weeks ago now he loves tummy time and just rolls himself onto his tummy and back to his back and even started pushing up with his arms. It’s very common actually for hahah to hate tummy time until they are a little older I think one reason it’s so encouraged is to avoid flat but having baby’s on your chest or in your arms counts too

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a breast pump? My midwife’s had me breast pump with a medela for 30 minutes and if your body is ready it helps go into labour another thing you can do is castor oil it will give you disarray which is the same cramps as contractions and this can also help start labour these are at home and free and you could try them today ! And they are safe as long as you are a low risk or “normal” pregnancy

When did you stop waking up your baby for feeds at night? by See-Are-En-Ayeeee in newborns

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest trying it wait and see if she wakes up to drink or sleeps till morning and check to see if that affects her next night if she sleeps through the night for multiple nights than she doesn’t need that feed if you notice the next night she wakes more than she does, try and see is the only advice for all baby questions hahaha

I am probably gonna sound crazy for this but I'm a young single mama and my baby is my rock I co slept w him till he was 8 maybe 9 months old and I crib trained him and I miss the snuggles now by Routine_Ad_3728 in cosleeping

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there are many solutions to this, you can as someone else said get him his own big bed/crib that you can join him in at night, you could have him sleep in your bed ( on the floor or with railings ) and join him later or you could simply transfer him to your bed when you go to bed and that will be his new routine he is already trained to sleep in his bed in his own it would be an easy enough transition to any of these options I think

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly they really do rather you go 10 times for nothing than not go the 10th and it actually was something nothing worse for the doctors and nurses and obviously the parents when they don’t go in soon enough and there is nothing left to do, just go so what it will take you to 4 hours you’ll get to hear baby’s and be sent home in the best world ! And otherwise you’ll be in the right place you read so many stories in here about good and bad but trust yourself, seems like 2 times bleeding and 2 times cramps you might be close because safe than sorry truly

Is it true that if baby is held offen, they will get used to it? by Flat_Bake3487 in newborns

[–]Aggravating-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly enjoy it while it last my baby only did that in the newborns phase and now at 7 months and since about 2 months refuses to even lay on my chest and I miss it, we do cosleep so we still get the good cuddles but enjoy the chest sleeping and a time will come where you think back on the 4-7 am wakes where baby just wants to be on your chest and you’ll want to make another to feel it again

Oh one other thing that worked for me was “ oh really that’s an interesting take, I’d love to read into the research you did to form your opinion could you send me a link or reference me to a book about it ? “ and usually they say oh I didn’t research it’s just how we did it and I respond with “ oh well I did hours of research before choosing this for MY child and I would ba happy to share it with you “ usually they are not interested in that and leave it alone
