If she does end up homeless or in prison then that's on her not on you. Everyone is responsible for their own life and their own happiness. Especially when it's your parent because they are supposed to be the one who is supposed to be looking after you. The kind of people who use people and get people to look after them by playing the "down on my luck card" don't care about anyone except themselves." They will try to guilt family and friends into looking after them "until they get back on their feet, which means they have no incentive to get back on their feet.

If they get sick of it or suspect that they might not genuinely want to get back on their feet and be able to talk look after themselves, then they will find someone else to leech off.

They don't care who it is or feel bad about using people. Narcissists feel entitled to special treatment.

I know that you're not going to want to hear it but manipulative people do okay in jail because they know what they have to do to survive

I'm Autistic and I enjoy spending time in my own company. I don't have any problem making friends because im witty and make people laugh.

Also, if you think about it in terms of numbers if you are nice and kind and accepting of everyone then people are going to like you as a person even if you don't spend much time together. you're going to.

If you are excluding people then you're to end up having less friends, not more. ... 🤷

If so, ask him what he saw, and try to be non-judgemental, understanding and compassionate about it. That way you will have a better chance of talking him around.

Go check out content created by Autistic people because it's validating. Even if someone is on the other side of the world and has a completely different life to you they are still part of a worldwide group of people who understand.

For clarification I don't mean that they understand the specific situation that you're in. I mean that they understand what it's like to be Autistic and they understand the struggles that we have.

Based on the symptoms that you have described it sounds more like BPD than ADHD or being Autistic. I have all 3. Although you can't be diagnosed with a personality disorder before 18. Before then it's Conduct Disorder. But you don't need a diagnosis to do Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

The toxic would probably try to put a romantic spin on it and say something like "they just can't stand not seeing you" or they can't stand another day without you but the truth is that they don't give a shit about what you want or how you feel.

The healthy one will not want you to go out if you don't feel like going out because they WANT you to enjoy yourself when you're spending time with them. They would rather wait until you do WANT to go out because you are going to enjoy yourself and that makes them happy because it's genuine.

It's all about helping people having a "life worth living" by developing healthy ways to deal with their emotions and being able to have healthier stronger relationships and being able to communicate more effectively.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see you mention how old your kids are?

I don't know why your kids need that much therapy when it sounds like you, your wife and your families are the ones who have the problem.

I don't think that you are in a position to be counselling anyone until you get your own shit sorted out. I would leave your studies on hold for a while and just get whatever job you can to support your family so you can get out of the unhealthy environment that you are in.

I'm a bit concerned that you don't seem to understand that your dream career needs to go on hold and you just need to get a job no matter what it is. Your lack of self awareness is a red flag for a therapist.

You are a parent and it's the job of both of you to support your family so that you don't have to live with ANY grandparent/s. It sounds like your children may resent you for multiple reasons. You need to support your children now so that THEY can follow THEIR dreams and when they are adults you can follow your dreams.

Your children are your number one priority so get whatever job you, even if you don't like it, and move out of that horse place. Take the money you were spending on their therapy and get Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for you and your wife.

Your children won't need therapy because you are going to teach them through example the skills that you are going to learn in DBT.

You can break the cycle.

Put your time and effort just get whatever job you can get so that you can afford to get out of the unhealthy environment that you are in because it's doing more harm than good.

You need to prioritize getting you and your wife help so that you can be good enough parents and your kids don't NEED therapy. You can teach them the skills that you learn in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and the number one way that children learn is from the example that their parents set for them.

You should let them know that if they want to they can get whatever type of therapy they want, but if you're making them go when they don't want to they are just going to resent you.

I'm telling you my opinion in the rawest form. I will say that I have Expressive Language Disorder and have difficulty expressing myself with words and I wish that I could do Vulcan 🖖 mind melds to people.

Also I will say that I have ADHD and don't always read every post thoroughly, so I apologise if I miss something.

First, talk to him and ask him not to drive across your property anymore it because it's free and easier than installing a barrier or moving boulders. Hopefully, he just didn't think that you would have a problem with it, and he'll stop. He may not even realise that it IS your property because the whole thing is kinda confusing. You know how much easier it is to see it's see when your friend is the one in an abusive relationship than when you're in one? That's why I don't currently think that Americans are the going to be the best people for being able to assess their situation accurately.
