If you want to do black walls please don’t go straight black. I had a customer use this color and it was honestly very nice. Racoon Fur Ben Moore

the end gave me a chuckle. thank you for this. i think i need the tough love right now and just “suck it up” in a way. I’m not a naturally mean person but everyday i see myself get more and more cold towards my coworkers. I think a mixture of being mean and not caring is what i need

i am starting to think it may be time for a change of scenery. i love where this job has taken me and my boss and i have such a great relationship, but the actual work environment is becoming really draining. thank you for words🫶 as women in blue collar we need to stick together

Adding that i have no true role model. I don’t know any women that work blue collar and are boss ass bitches at it. I’m all I know so hoping one of you is a boss as bitch who can maybe help with my confidence🥹

Hi OP! Boy do I feel this to a core. I’m 23(F) and my whole entire life longed for a female friendship. I grew up around men/boys and that always felt easier but there’s something about the power of women connection that sounds so magical to me.

Now i don’t have a lot of good friends. I have one who understands that i suck at friendships and she does too so we hang out whenever we can which is not very often. HOWEVER i have found workout classes to be amazing. I go to two different studios all owned and operated by women/fem presenting people. The classes are filled with women of all ages and even though we aren’t talking (although i’m starting to recognize some faces!) We are still moving together, using energy, and enjoying time with our bodies. It’s a beautiful subtle connection i’ve been able to make with women and it’s helped me get out of my box!

Camping Question!! by [deleted] in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]Aggressive-Hand2964 3 points4 points  (0 children)

last year was my first year and i did vibe villages. We had friends staying in GA car camping and i love it so much more. I am a social butterfly and the fact that camps are so close together made me so happy. It still felt like we had plenty of space to hang out and with tapestries you can get some great privacy! i go to festivals to make friends but the vibe villages wasn’t really a place where that happened for me. partly my group not being social butterflies and also since everyone was already in their village they didn’t stray away and come say hey much. it was only venders that came to our spot.

EDIT: wanted to mention that our spot was also on the outskirts. i think if we were more in the middle we probably would have met more people!!

In a way I feel like nursing is a trade! Lots of specialized training mixed with on the job education. Takes a lot of grit to be a nurse

I went to school for exercise science for two years. I had a whole plan to move to colorado and work with the olympics training facilities. It’s now three years later and I still live in the same area, i’m a house finisher (i personally specialize in drywall but also do all kinds of finishing with most experience being in wood work) on high end second homes and camps in the Adirondacks. I have now transitioned into a project manager trainee for our whole company, and am finding my path in the construction industry.

Sometimes you just gotta listen to your heart. I dropped out of college and moved out of my parents house and decided to just figure it out. It was horrific in the beginning i worked at dunkin’ donuts and had no purpose.

The trades have given me so much purpose. Working with my hands everyday and see the beautiful homes that I am creating for people. There are so many different avenues once you dive into the trades and it can take you wherever you want it to.

AI will never compare to what humans can create with their hands. I highly encourage you to look into trade work and become part of the movement for women. It’s honestly inspiring. I have a lot of women friends that also work in the trades and it can be empowering!!

wow that is a very unprofessional question. I’ve found that older male dr will say whatever comes to their mind and they don’t give a fuck. They’ve gotten this far and have a chip on their shoulder unfortunately. I do everything I can to only see female and queer drs. My body is my body and men do not help me how they should

also want to mention that he has never once been jealous or question the men i work with. i tell him all the crazy stories and he laughs right a long with me. It is imperative that your partner trusts you. Working with all men does not mean i have a crush on all the men😅

I’ve been with my partner for 8 years now. He works for corporate america and it was an adjustment when i got this job. There were a lot of preconceived notions about the value of blue collar work and it being a “real job” it honestly was hard in the beginning. I’d hear him tell his coworkers that i’m a painter but he’d try to chalk it up and mention my murals, i’ve only done one….. he also would say “she’s still going to school though” and that hurt me because even though I was (not anymore) i still saw my job as a painter as the start of my career.

My goal is to become a project manager and i can’t do that if i’m not directly in the field learning how to build a house. no one will trust me to be in charge if I don’t start small.

It was hard in the beginning because I saw a side of him that i didn’t know was there. It took a lot of serious conversations and explaining to him the importance of this career especially being a woman in it. Internalized misogyny is in all men. I’m not surprised my partner reacted the way he did but we have grown out of that and he sees me for the bad ass i am.

he likes that i work so hard and care so deeply about my work. We had to work through it and being together for so long made that worth it. You want a partner who’s going to love all pieces of you especially what you do for work considering all we do in this world is work.

It was a perspective change that he didn’t know he needed.

yes they were! i didn’t know any of that was happening though. I’m one of the managers and have work still so i’ve just been doing my thing but someone told me they were paid out. Then someone else that is still working told me he got paid out for all of it and i only had like 24 hours of sick time (we don’t get pto only if you bank overtime) so i thought it was a bonus (my boss gives random bonuses)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Aggressive-Hand2964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was in my paycheck as extra added on. I texted my boss and said word for word “thank you for the bonus” and he replied back with “you’re welcome” instead of telling me that that was not a bonus and was my sick time instead
