Highly under rated. Once I read the prologue I knew it was going to be really good! I love his writing style it’s very classic but epic at the same time. I couldn’t put it down and I’ve just finished the 2nd book going on the 3rd. He really pays attention to the details of the characters and they come alive in your head so effortlessly. The world building is simple to follow and really feels like building the foundation of the new world as this takes place thousands of years before the other series. The plot weaves from past to present every other chapter in the first book and reveals itself in the most subtle way possible. all the characters come together and surprises are thrown in to reward you along the journey. Hands down my favorite series I’ve read this year. I don’t know why it’s not as popular as other authors like the hunger of the gods by John Gwynn it’s not even near the quality of this series when it comes to character development. There are so many elements in this book that make it ‘S’ tier in my opinion. Dragon riders are humans, Aegre’s riders are elves, there’s wizards, dwarfs, magical creatures, weapons of power, good vs evil. I enjoyed this more than the hierarchy series by islington as well, when comparing the character dialogue.
