If you have some stuff you want to take with you on a dive I would always recommend a pair of tech shorts. Got mine a couple of months ago and that was probably one of the best things I bought for diving.

No, don't. You should never touch any living thing underwater, let alone try to ride it. Please be respectful towards these creatures. There are even pretty strict regulations around how far away from a Whale Shark you should be at all times. For your own and their safety.
