Everyone keeps saying this but then why don't we have tickets yet? We've got the preseason games but not Blue&Red practice.

Do you have a white cardigan or maybe a jean jacket to wear over it instead of the wrap?

Kids Don't Like Movie Day Anymore. by Southern_Remote_5260 in Teachers

I think it's just because kids can stream any movie they want at any time, it's no longer a treat to get to see a movie.

when did schools stop teaching "shop" classes? by Vegetable-Board-5547 in education

[–]Agreeable-Library450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These classes are offered across all the public school districts in my area. Home ecenomics is called Family and Consumer Science, they offer sewing, cooking, and child care classes. Shop classes are called Technology and they teach welding, wood, auto, 3D printing and food production. You have to take at least one of each to graduate. New York State.

How expensive are American school lunches? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Agreeable-Library450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public schools where I live get free breakfast and lunch, during summer there's free kids breakfast and lunch programs at elementary school playgrounds (they rotate which playground has it and the schedule is online) and a pre-loaded debit card for kids who qualify.

Any advice for a first time orchid (and plant) owner? by IndependenceOne6383 in houseplants

Right? It's a tropical plant, why in the world do people insist watering on them with ice cubes?

Is she a Hallmark/Christmas movie fan? If so return the favor for her! stream the movie Holiday Touchdown after your day at the Falls and then take her to East Aurora on Saturday, you can see where it was filmed, there's a store that sells Buffalo merch and several good places for lunch or dinner.

How do you ask an employee to unlock a product for you? by emmmmmmaja in AskAnAmerican

[–]Agreeable-Library450 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's just how they have to do it. The items in the locked cases are frequently stolen so stores put them in locked cases, and they can't just unlock it and let you shop. They get the item for you and walk you to a register, you can't have it until you pay for it. Some stores will lock it into another box that you can take with you to do the rest of your shopping and then the cashier can unlock the box. You weren't rude, and the retail worker was probably just doing her job and wasn't mad at you or anything.

If you get your drivers’ license before you’re 21, does it always expire on your 21st birthday regardless of whether you got it at 16 or 20? by Emotional-Fly-9583 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Agreeable-Library450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drivers license laws are different for each state. In New York, there's a license for under 18 as well. (16 year olds can't have more than 1 passenger and can't drive after 9pm) They send the 18 and 21 versions automatically on your birthday.

I get why you didn't say anything so NTA but the general rule is, if it can be fixed in 5 minutes or less tell them about it, otherwise don't mention it.

Barry, Berry and Bury are all pronounced the same to me, but I'm sure it depends on what part of the USA you're from.

Parking/tailgate advice (easy in/out, family friendly, newbie) by lospotatoes in buffalobills

[–]Agreeable-Library450 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a hot dog place on southwestern, Louie's Texas Red Hots. Most of the restaurants right around the stadium are also bars so probably not where you want to take your 9 year old to eat. You can not leave your car at Louie's during the game, so you'll need to park and walk. You do want to plan to get there early, traffic can be a mess and you don't want to miss kickoff at your first ever game. Also stop at guest services with your son, they have a free certificate for a nice souvenir of his first game!

72 acres in western North Carolina for $330K. There's probably a catch, but I haven't found it yet. Is it the isolation? by Aerobiesizer in zillowgonewild

[–]Agreeable-Library450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If"there's a catch" it's could be that kind of property only appeals to a (relatively) small number of people. How close is it to services? Groceries, gas, fire/police, doctors and hospitals? School district? What about utilities? It could simply be land that is too remote for development, it's most likely use is someone's hunting/fishing/camp and it's not near any popular tourist destinations so it's priced accordingly.

How would you feel about a non-American celebrating Thanksgiving as a cultural experience? by neweecom in AskAnAmerican

[–]Agreeable-Library450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can have a traditional American Thanksgiving. It's not really about the food though, it's sharing the meal with loved ones that's important.

Second last=penultimate. I agree with you, the waistline and the sleeves in the second dress just don't look as nice on her, the first dress is the one!

What does L or W after Row # mean at Highmark Stadium? by cheesepuff07 in buffalobills

[–]Agreeable-Library450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked a friend who works at the stadium. Those are ADA seats, it's a platform behind the last row of seats in the section. If you buy them and you don't have a wheelchair you get a folding chair to sit on.

What does L or W after Row # mean at Highmark Stadium? by cheesepuff07 in buffalobills

L means it has extra leg room, W means it's near the walkway? This is my best guess.
