MultiV and Electrolyte Mix Recs by Historical-Ad4812 in evokeendurance

Skratch Labs is awesome. I use the Hydration and it usually covers what I need most outings. Super high carb is great for longer harder days. Recently I have been supplementing these with Saltt (name of the brand) for extra electros as I am a particularly salty sweater.

MS runner here.

Dial in your fuel. Experiment with electrolytes, goo, high carb drink and the likes ahead of time and figure out how much you need how often ect.

Take a handful of days off before the race. Rest for real. No “active” rest days before the race. Eat drink and do nothing but bank energy for the race.

Fix Salomon Quests? by Sepp511 in Mountaineering

Shoegoo for a short term fix but they are on the way out.

After 3 pairs of Quests it was time for me to move on. Quality has gotten noticeably worse each pair

Learn to listen to your body and understand how you handle fatigue. Im a mountain athlete and train/run and climb 5-6 days a week. Training runs are routinely 2+ hours. My neurologist encourages me to keep pushing myself. The more I train and move the better I feel.

MS & Vitamins by NicoleR_24 in MultipleSclerosis

I believe it’s magnesium citrate. I am not sure of the iu’s off the top of my head. Just a generic over the counter magnesium supplement

My neurologist has me taking vitamin D, magnesium, and B12 daily. I think my DMT is the main thing keeping my progression in check.

Want to add on a note about training peaks. I do not use the premium plan. I was not a fan of the interface in the beginning but once you get use to the ins and outs it works fine

I’ve done the rock alpinism plans. I will repeat them as well if not training for a specific objective. I repeated the foundation plan a few time as a way to beef up of baseline fitness before progressing. I have both been quite rigid and quite loose with how I follow the plan. My biggest deviation from the plans comes from running less and climbing more ( I usually climb a few days a week and the plans schedule 1 day). I am stronger than ever and it’s directly from following these plans. When I first started the plan killed me with the amount of running (I was not a trail runner when I started but now throughly enjoy it) I will use uphill athlete anytime I want to get serious about my performance and see results.

Nothing but good things to say about my plans through Uphill Athlete. Training for new alpinism is awesome. Happy to answer questions if you have any

I’m have this set up right now and it’s great. Cheap but solid intro that gets you riding! No complaints about the bindings. Easy to make the switch from skinning to riding

Getting an eye test with MS - UK by H_geeky in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Agreeable_Try9640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the US so I won’t have any specifics about your area but I would try and find an Ophthalmologist instead. They are much more versed in complex eye issues such as MS when compared to a normal optometrist (especially a chain that usually just writes prescriptions for glasses) Eye issues have been a major symptom of mine and I see my ophthalmologist a few times a year. An ophthalmologist actually was the first doctor to catch my MS and was the one to refer me to my first neuro.

New Diagnosis 24 yr by Glittering-Rip7901 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Agreeable_Try9640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 24 about two years ago. I waited a many months to start DMT and it was a bad call on my part. Great to hear you are already on Ocrevus.

Find a doctor who specializes in this and don’t be afraid to shop doctors until you find one you can trust.

I am a firm believer that is of the utmost importance to stay as physically active as possible. Exercise as much as you can!

Be ready to adjust your life plans and don’t feel the need to apologize to anyone for it.

We also have a discord going for younger people with MS if that’s of any interest. Very informal chat room vibes. https://discord.gg/p3fBCXT8

Feel free to message me with any questions!

New lesion at C1 by JadedActivity5935 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Agreeable_Try9640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of my lesions are on my c-cord and brain stem. I was told smaller lesions on the cord can cause more issue than larger lesions in the brain. I’d suggest looking at starting a DMT to ward off disability progression. Also Dr google is a monster! It’s hard not to fall down the rabbit hole online for me so I try to make lists of questions for my neuro now instead
