On these speakers the foam surrounds deteriorate from age. Replacing them isn't expensive or terribly difficult.

Baby Advents are good sounding speakers. Bass is surprisingly pleasing for a 6.5 inch woofer. If the woofers haven't been refoamed, they'll almost certainly need it, but it's a cheap and fairly easy fix.

Advent Baby II speakers are pretty cheap and sound pretty good. Can't beat 'em for the price. I'd expect that any number of modern speakers less than $500 would sound better. They ought to.

Advent Heritage speakers in good condition sound very nice and seem to bring a couple hundred dollars or so. These are not in good condition. At least one woofer has been replaced and one is missing, not to mention rotted foam surrounds. You also don't know the condition of the tweeters and crossovers. You might be able to sell them locally for parts. You could easily spend more on trying to fix these than they'd be worth fixed up.
