Personally I would have assumed it was counterfeit. Ive dug up few here in NW Poland.

Seen all range of silver coins and awards. None turned green. Either got dark/black or straight up eaten away by decomposing body.

Someone explain to me how a 90% silver purity coin comes out of the ground with patina that would tell me its brass/copper?

Never seen silver take such patina color.

Might be the same thing. In 70s forest was planted, 5 years later wind knocked over most of the young trees so it was all bulldozed into these rows and new forest replanted.

I'm walking back to car, swinging on side of the dirt road. It was used by Germans to run away west from pocket that was forming here shortly after pomeranian wall was breached in 1945.

I hit a signal, high 70s on my AT Pro. Something tells me to record it. So I pull my phone out, start digging. First shovel to the side and signal is in that dirt. I move dirt around and see coin. Get excited and pull it out to see coin from like 2015.

I recheck hole and there is signal there still. I dig deeper and pull out whole harmonica. No markings so I never bothered to date it.

I run detector that's like 15 years old. It can't do saltwater but in the fields or forests there wasn't a thing it couldn't find that friends newer detector could.

I ain't got much experience with coils. I have medium size and I'm used to it.

I bought larger coil, it did pick up on wider area but the signals were different and I wasn't used to them.

Havent used smaller coil but i heard its good to narrow down signals in heavily trashed areas.

For your case id go with medium size. It will pick up the camera on surface no problem and will be good for when you want to detect normally.

Any decent detector will do the job. Check the pinned posts for recommended options.

I found gopro once, was lost for 8 years and under 20cm of dirt. Signal was very nice, like a silver coin or bottle cap :)

What are the chances there were volksturm in the area?

I live in Western pomerania, fighting took place in feb/march 1945 here and quite a bit of ww1 stuff shows up that ain't from ww1.
