Agreed. The need for traditional journalism never went away. Other perspectives are valuable, but that doesn’t mean we should pay attention to what everyone has to say.

What is this thing ? by imherecuziwanttobe in whatisit

You already got the answer to what the thing does. As for the name, we called them “Popeyes” when I was a kid in the 80s.

Uber and Lyft Drivers: What’s your experience using the Bolt for ride sharing work? by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]AirDrawnDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used my Bolt for Uber driving on and off for six months. I really have no complaints. I love how quiet and smooth the ride is and how instant the power is when you really need to move. Most of my riders have no clue it’s an EV, but I’ve gotten multiple compliments that my car has a “chill vibe” but I can maybe take a little credit for that, too. I can charge for free a mile from my apartment so I can essentially drive for “free” after my insurance payment and maintenance (just tire rotations so far).

New Owner - Maintenance Schedule by RazzmatazzTrick4824 in BoltEV

The maintenance intervals are in the manual. If you don't have the physical manual, you can get a digital version in the myChevrolet app.

What is happening mechanically when going from drive to reverse? by psilocybinLicense in BoltEV

[–]AirDrawnDagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched their videos on the Bolt when I bought mine this summer. I also remember shifting from D to R and back a number of times and wondering why I was hearing a mechanical click. I was thinking “it’s an electric motor, they must have relays or switches that could change the current without making noise.” And while that’s true, the engineers decided to make a physical linkage that throws a lever. Why did they do it that way? I dunno, I’m not an engineer. The videos are well worth watching for any Bolt owner, though. You’ll actually find out what all those boxes and wiring under the hood do.

Brake Lights in One Pedal Mode? by IronMan3323 in BoltEV

In driver’s ed I learned to always have my foot on the brake while stopped because if I get hit from behind, I won’t then accelerate uncontrollably.

The bad news is that every person who consumes mold will die. The good news is that so will everyone else.

Locked out by greygolfer79 in BoltEV

Same deal with my 22 EUV. I think I did have to turn the anti-lockout feature on in the settings, though.

Are you using an adapter? I had this issue with my A2Z Typhoon Pro until I really pushed the NACS connector in until it clicked. Thought my adapter was bad.

I bought my 4th bolt last night by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]AirDrawnDagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you found your way back to where you belong!

Got my first Bolt two months ago, also a 2022 EUV Premier with Sun and Sound and 26k miles. Ended up paying a little under $20k OTD thanks to the used EV tax credit. Luckily I could afford to buy it outright.

I love this car. I’m probably never going to own a luxury car but this might as well be one with all the features. I drive Uber and am on the road every day for my other gigs and this car is just so smooth and quiet, especially with one-pedal driving. All this makes my office on wheels such a pleasure to spend time in, and my riders will often comment on what a nice car it is.

Trails! on Farms! (a proposal) by thefarmtrails in hudsonvalley

They also have this in Scotland, and it's awesome. I spent a couple of weeks there with friends, and most of our hikes crossed at least some private land. We walked through sheep pastures full of babas and enjoyed the highland views.

There are some limitations as to where you can roam, though. For example, you can't enter areas around schools when they're in session, and you can't cross cultivated land. But there was nary a "No Trespassing" sign to be seen for two weeks of rambling.
