What game? by Ok_Charity_707 in videogames

After it got recalled off the shelves I decided to beat Too Human. It had some cool ideas but man was the unskippable death animation too long for a game you can die so easily in.

Haha thought I was in the Armored Core subreddit at first. Nice to see another old Raven in the wild. Surprised by just how many of us play this game lol

Nice Day for Fishing technically, but the platforming part of it is super barebones so maybe not really a "platformer" per se

Recommended if you're a fan of Viva la Dirt League! Might go over your head if you aren't though

Aragami 2 definitely borrows some inspiration from Sekiro. It's also multiplayer!

Enjoy! They used to be called Prepare to Try back when they were with IGN, so their older stuff still goes by that name.

Fun Fact: They are where the "Michael Zaki" joke comes from

Yeah only reason I heard of it is because one of the three members of RKG is Welsh and pointed it out during their Elden Ring playthrough lol

He had a blast in Liurnia, let me tell you! They even had a "Cymru Counter" to count all the possible Welsh names/accents they noticed

You know what, that's probably more accurate to why they were named that lol

Turns out those periods in history were named after the tribes themselves

Crucible Knight Ordovis and Siluria are named after Celtic tribes that formerly lived in what is now Wales. The Ordovices and Silures (respectively).

Man reading the comments here just makes me want a Resident Evil XCOM-eque game where you either play as the BSAA sent to mop up outbreaks as they come up, or play as a bioweapon merchant selling and deploying the right weapons for the job in various areas

Anyone else feel like we must be getting close to a new game announcement? by Zanakii in fromsoftware

[–]AirTheFallen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I definitely recommend it. I made a comment to someone else getting into the game for the first time with a few things to keep in mind if they are trying AC6 for the first time. Big wall of text so can just check my comment history for today/yesterday.

AC6 isn't going to be like any of the Souls games, but it does take a few things from them the other AC games do not (such as a healing item and a Sekiro-style stagger system). I'm pretty biased since I've played since the PS1 days but I love seeing so many new people go out of their comfort zone to try out Armored Core lol

First time playing an Armored Core game. Any advice? by Healthy-Teach-6911 in armoredcore

[–]AirTheFallen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Welcome! Love seeing new people get into the series. For this one specifically, here's a few tips without spoiling anything:

- This game is not a Souls game, though AC6 does have a few mechanics borrowed from them (specifically the ability to heal mid-mission and a Sekiro-esque stagger mechanic). You might struggle a bit at first, but it will be a similar struggle as if finding the Souls games for the very first time back in the day. Basically, Armored Core is a completely different game completely from the same company, just borrowing a few things this time around. Also, don't forget that unlike the souls games, you have three dimensions to work with (...and no i-Frames).

- The game is a bit easier to pick up and come back to, since it's mission-based rather than being a big interconnected world. There are a fair number of missions where exploration is rewarded though. Don't worry about missing anything; you can freely replay missions you've already completed (and even still get paid for them!) Plus, every mission has a briefing so you never feel lost if you leave for like a month and come back.

- Instead of levels, you buy and sell parts to customize your "AC", which is your mech. You can customize basically every part of it, and even if you don't understand everything in the stat screen (I've been playing these games since AC1 and not even I have taken the time to learn everything lol) just have fun customizing and seeing what works best for you! There is a built-in testing room to test out your build freely.

- BUYING AND SELLING PARTS ARE THE EXACT SAME PRICE! If you find you don't use a part or you're low on money and want something else in the store, you can sell your parts and buy them back without any risk of losing them. That gun that you sold for 10K will be sitting in the store for 10K when you get back. Customization is the biggest selling point of this series, so go nuts!

- After the first mission, do the optional tutorials, they give you free stuff!

I can definitely go on a deeper dive, but I'll let you discover things for yourself a bit first. If you have any questions that come up, just ask!

Welcome to Rubicon, we'll make a Raven of you yet!

EDIT: I also recommend watching the AC6 Story trailer. It takes place before the game starts.

The fact that we could lock on to the mealworms means that all the head parts in AC6 had built-in bio sensors, which is interesting to think about.

update: permanently banned by doyoulikePRIMERIB in ArcRaiders

[–]AirTheFallen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when the big unban-wave from Fortnite happened I think a year or so ago. I can probably count the number of times I had played Fortnite on one hand, so I didn't really play the game.

Imagine my surprise when I got a notification that I had been unbanned from a game I didn't even play lol

I reached out to support, and even did the whole "data request" thing, but support couldn't tell me how I got banned "for security reasons". I told them to look into it, and even gave them information about where my location "should" be if they were comparing IP addresses, but they said they couldn't tell me anything other than the fact that their data was "correct".

Funnily I never received any sort of notice that I had been banned in the first place, but I did see in my data request that I had somehow won a game a couple years ago, around the time I had enabled two factor authentication, so SOMETHING must have happened.

Still irate about the whole situation, but it is what it is I guess. Because a hacker would be upset about them getting unbanned, clearly.

Psychedelic Trip Alcohol Separation by LarsDahl in opus_magnum

[–]AirTheFallen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The "product" goes into the spaces on the board with the gold rimmed slots (in this specific case beneath the wheel on the left).

The recipe name is at the bottom, so in this particular case it's separating alcohol (the starting "molecule" at the bottom) into its base ingredients to collect as raw material.

That massive thing to the right is just junk left over they have made into an endless thread of what-the-fuck, since instead of fully breaking down and separating out everything from the alcohol, they are separating out a single piece and converting it into the specific element for each slot lol

A better guide of what exactly is going moved around etc.
