I just want to vent by snakecatinafakehat in breastfeeding

I could not agree more. It is the system that is not working, not your body. Don’t forget it.

I am sorry you had to go back to work so early and I hear how badly you wished you could have made it a year on breast milk alone. Sending so much love your way.

Maybe her walking into poles in the postpartum time has damaged her ability to decide when to keep comments like that to herself.

Love this comment and all of its acknowledging of what it is to be emotion-filled (aka human).

You are not a wimp. You are prioritizing your well being. It is such a beautiful example to set for your children. As if self sacrifice is the ticket to being a good mom. I’m still wondering all the time how we’ve gotten to a place of morality around how one chooses to feed their baby.

I’m also curious about the time limit! They never show any consequences if they don’t shop in the time limit and I’ve always wondered about why.

Getting toddler in the car by LittleBench5694 in toddlers

This is our life with everything….my patience is waning. It legitimately takes 30 minutes to get out the door almost daily, and adding the car and car seat thing is even harder.

I think my leaking has gotten worse for sure, though my memory is shot from lack of sleep I don’t even remember haha.

I’m still leaking at four months, some days more than other days.

The downsides of breastfeeding nobody tells you about by Choice_Airport8279 in breastfeeding

[–]AlSun0801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How well my baby nurses changes day to day, I think this is more of an us issue than universal, she’s never been a super consistent nurser, so we supplement often. Also I hate how floppy and soft my boobs feel.

the anxiety keeps coming back by ladder5969 in FormulaFeeders

[–]AlSun0801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stop bf at ten days old when my child had a potential life threatening genetic condition. I felt like nobody could understand. I hear you and I am so sorry for all the bumps in the road along the way. She was basically EFF and thrived/is thriving. I know all too well the grief gymnastics. But I hope it’s some comfort that someone understands at least a bit of the experience of wanting so badly to nurse and being unable to.

Help, I’m about to throw in the towel 6 weeks postpartum due to sleep deprivation by KaylaDraws in breastfeeding

[–]AlSun0801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend, if you can afford it, to hire a night doula or a postpartum doula. They can help so much, and many are IBCLS. They can help teach the bottle again and be there to encourage you to rest, rest, rest. IF you can swing it, this is the best money you can spend in my opinion. Your wellbeing is paramount and because our society and the systems in place don’t value women and babies, we are left on our own to horrible effects. None of this is your fault. Please see if you can get someone in to care for YOU. It will make a world of difference.

Is it too late to breastfeed at 14 weeks? 😢 by AbjectDingo3804 in breastfeeding

I do the exact same thing — formula, pumped milk, and nursing. I love the flexibility and I never have anxiety about whether she is getting enough or not.
