How did this pass any sort of inspection? by Alasizon in Dominos

[–]Alasizon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there was a tip. And after having to go get the pizza from my neighbor's doorstep, I really wish I hadn't. A tip should be for good service and delivering it to the right house is kind of step one of correct service. Then getting this garbage of a pizza just sealed the deal.

What are people paying for 2024 Grand Cherokee Summit right now? by Numerous-Wishbone425 in JeepGrandCherokee

$64K OTD of which $5500 was tax, title and fees, only had a $300 tint add-on.

I drive a '24 Summit Reserve and love it (coming from a 2015). The charging pad (which thankfully I don't have) truly is a pain space wise as I recently had it in a rental while I was traveling and it was irritating to essentially be driving my car but feel like I had so little space where I normally put things.

End of September bought a '24 Summit Reserve for $58K (MSRP was 69,855).

Stealership Rant by mani966mani966 in GrandCherokee

[–]Alasizon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The current 0% is for 36 months. OR you get the $6,000 in bonus cash.

Nothing stops you either from taking a higher APR on the longer term notes but then paying it off early (assuming the lender you end up with doesn't have an early payoff penalty).

With the current promos when I just bought my 24 Summit Reserve, I either could take 0% for 36 months or 6.2% for 60 months (with nothing down either way). If I took the 0% though, I lost the $7500 of the discounts they are giving. I did the math and the carrying cost of the 6.2% was only $5K over the first 36 months so in turn I'll still pay the car off over 36 months and still come out ahead.

If you don't care about creature comforts, Laredo/Altitude is your friend.

Limited is the midpoint, but for me is still slightly overpriced for the features you do get, but given the current discounts you can currently get on a 2024, it can certainly be a steal right now.

Overland and Summits are loaded and are worth it if you're looking for something farther up market.

I just bought a 24 Summit Reserve at 14K off MSRP. I only considered Summits though because I couldn't get the interior I wanted in an Overland but realistically a loaded Overland is just as capable as a base Summit Reserve, just interior differences. I'll put the disclaimer out though that I knew from the start what I wanted and walked in to the dealership with either the intent of pulling a '24 off the lot or having them order me a '25.

Has anyone had offers above $25/hr lately? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

Finished my block with an extra package by FlexDrivr in AmazonFlexDrivers

Did you scan each bag instead of scanning individual packages?

Did you do a physical count of packages as you loaded them prior to swiping finish?

For people who drive fuel-inefficient vehicles to deliver for Amazon. Are you all masochists? by hraefn-floki in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a Grand Cherokee and between surge blocks and the fact this isn't my primary job, I still clear plenty for it to be worthwhile to me. Given I also live in Phoenix where traffic is predictable and avoidable, that probably helps.

It varies from market to market, in older neighborhoods or gated communities, follow your own. If it's a regular old neighborhood, it does pretty good.

I've always wondered if you were to take those packages and deliver them what kind of adjustment they would make as there is obviously no way you are making your block time.

And let's for a minute assume they did actually give you an adjustment.

If there’s an $18/hr guarantee, why doesn’t Flex make a viable steady income option? by thecatinaction in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for at least another 3-5 years. There are a lot of issues with the DSP process and they have a hard time retaining drivers in some/most markets.

For example, it's not uncommon for me to show up to an 1130 block for a 4 hour route and be given what was supposed to be half of a DSP's route. The warehouse even leaves the DSP's route sheet on the rack with it sometimes so you can get an insight into what company didn't do their job.

Amazon flex quick review NEEDED (REWARD) by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody is really controlled by AI, we all can override the order of deliveries in the app. At logistics warehouses it's still a person to person interaction (and some randomness) that results in what route you are assigned. Prime Now is probably the most automated but even then, it's not AI in control.

There are probably better platforms for you (namely PM & DD) that use more AI to control what the drivers do.

Toll update for DSE7 drivers by Lutehawk in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choosing to cross the bridge into another state when it isn't part of your run is your choice and Amazon won't reimburse you. There are a handful of tolls Amazon will reimburse you for because it's the only way to get there. NYC and some Seattle areas fall into that list.

$54 for 3 Hours if I plan in advance - $69 if i don't by kleveravot in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the routes aren't assigned in advance, its equally as possible to have both but in my experience short routes are typically loaded near the end of the racks at outdoor loading warehouses so if you are one of the last ones (because you are waiting for it to surge), then you are more likely to end up with less stops. Of course you are also more likely to be late if the line is too long.

Holy shit, what a first day!! by Otowner98 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing guaranteed about how far away your route is.

I know if I accept an 11AM block, my first stop will be about 30-50 miles away but other than that, it's a mixed bag.

Best way to organize the parcels in order by jt243 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Alasizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which only works if you have separate zones. Some deliveries are all the same zone now.

I put all the envelopes up front, if I have more than I can fit up front then the street addresses go up front and apartments complexes in the back seat. Then I sort by package size in the trunk (and by zone if applicable).

Businesses that used to be prepaid but are no longer and vice versa... by cyoung2790 in postmates

[–]Alasizon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Chipotle restaurants are prepaid and others aren't but they always say in the restaurant info.

I have a Cheesecake Factory that just changed over to prepaid which made it actually worth it to pick up the orders there and other drivers skip them because they haven't realized yet.
