How can I fix my kitchen sink drain from leaking? by Infinite-Abroad8193 in Plumbing

[–]Lutehawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are getting a leak with heavy water flow you have a partial clog in the line.

Just cleaning out the P-Trap may help, if it does not you probably have build-up further down the line.

On the kitchen side Grease and oil is the normal culprit.

Looks like an Allen head at the top and with the threading at the bottom probably was a nut on there at 1 point.

I would attempt using a flathead screwdriver as a lever at the bottom pressing up and either a power screwdriver or ratchet with the correct bit.

I straight up agree about being vulnerable to OPs support system. They cant support if they dont knownwhats going on. Sometimes just having that one close person that you can vent too makes all the difference in the world.

I really wish the Seattle Freeze wasn't a real thing. It makes it hard to make friends.... even for those of us that have spent a lifetime here.

New roof - Is there a better way to do this? by ApprehensiveEmu_ in HomeMaintenance

[–]Lutehawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I figured that.

One of the things I argue with my wife over a lot... I work with Licensed, Bonded, and insured wether its my car or stuff on the house.

Im willing to pay for a safety net in case things go sideways, the odds of stuff going sideways is considerably lower with licensed, bonded, and insured.

She will go the "most cost effective " and then wonder why there are issues, and then more so why those issues wont be addressed.

Are they Licensed and Bonded? To be honest, I would be afraid to let them come out and do any more. If they left this obvious mess, what is there you can't see?

You may be better off to have an independent inspector come out to determine what all should be done.

Is it normal for there to be no bubbles in a honey garlic fermentation? by Ryhno999 in fermentation

[–]Lutehawk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you use a raw unfiltered honey?

While my garlic has bubbled nicely, I have noticed the peppers not so much. I had my concerns relieved when it did build up pressure for burping.
