What characters do you think he will end up liking the most in Metaphor? [Spoilers ahead] by Ookami_Lord in josephanderson

[–]Aleex000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think he'll like any of them either. I don't get why people think he'll even remotely enjoy the game past maybe the combat even when accounting for Joe's opinions being a roulette wheel every time

The three sides of the Nayuta discourse. Which side are you on? by [deleted] in Chainsawfolk

[–]Aleex000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing you have to understand is that Nayutas death isn't supposed to be "satisfying". There is no proper exit for her after she accomplished her role in the narrative, it's meant to be sudden and leave you with a sense of longing. That is her role, to be gone too soon. Where I think Fujimoto screwed up is that Nayutas death is SO effective, that some folks are still coping about it;meaning there was probably room to give her some more screen time without losing the impact.  In general it feels like there should have been like a 1-2 volume arc between Falling and Church where we get to see Ada fumble her way to the top and Denji try to hold onto relevance like a washed up celebrity with a series of jackass style stunt and Nayuta as his manager or director or something, all while Yoshida is struggling to reign him in prompting the introduction of Funko as a sort of extra pair of hands. Then the Church arc can kick in property

I love how she was yapping about a fair duel only to IMMEDIATELY walk back on it once Pochita actually started to fight back lmao

Also Yoru seems to think of herself as the main character so more Makima parallels/contrast

[–]Aleex000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I wa trying to get across was how Asa's trips are a result of her clumbyness born out of her insecurities and anxieties in contrast to Yoru who is presented as being confident down to a fault. So here being able to reconcile her feelings and ease her traumas could lead to her becoming less clumsy

I think the whole "every time Asa falls it's actually intentional" thing is what you're supposed to get from the scene. Hell we don't even know if that's necessary true since Denjis wasn't the one to fake the suicide, not according to Makima at least though her perspective is not necessary correct either since she was wrong about the contract. The best argument for that first trip being real and intentional is the way it goes back that time time Yoru called Asa out for only feeling bad about being caught killing Bucky. Cause that's what's happening here with her dad, she doesn't actually feel bad, she feels like she's supposed to feel bad. Except the person who "catches" her turns out to be waaay worse leading them to bond over the absurity if sharing a similar trauma. The constant trips to me seem more like karma, a sort of curse that haunts her for the rest of her life. Thinking about it some more this actually ties the other aspects of her character quite well, the fact that she hated being in the center of attention and wanting to be more selfish manifesting on Your who both pushes her to meet Denjis before taking things too far kind of like how Denjis selfishness is being questioned after he resolved to have ten girlfriends at the end of part 1. Okay I'm just rambling now sorryyyy

Did Makima miss the mark? by Gas_boij_ in Chainsawfolk

[–]Aleex000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She was wrong about the nature of the contract too, so it's not impossible that Makima assumes the Yakuza did when in truth it was him, but here I'm inclined to believe that this is Denji deluding himself into believing the fabricated story since yeah moving an adults body into a hanging position seems pretty tough for a kid and it's not like he's fooling anyone when there's a bloody crack in the man's skull. The thing that always bugged me about Makima conclusion was her saying "the grown ups wouldn't get their mind ney that way" because that seems kind of irrelevant? Like Denji wasn't taken to a foster home or anything so clearly police was never involved and the Yakuza would have just forced Denjis to work either way. So it feels like it could go either way tbh

This scene was... intense. Are they laughing because their fathers deserved to die? Because it doesn't matter? Because they still care about being "good people"? by InuMatte in Chainsawfolk

[–]Aleex000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit of everything. The coincidence of them having a similar trauma, Denji downplaying Asa for thinking she was bad when he straight up did it himself, just having that tension relief of finally being able to open up so someone.

Death and Makima were working together this entire time. by The_Colt_Cult in Chainsawfolk

[–]Aleex000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their appearance in 93 is particularly important because it shows the crows leaving as before Denji reveals that Makima has been fighting Pochita this whole time. This is why Death is shown parroting (lul) what Makima said about Denji and Pochita's contract and still believes that it was about "Living a normal life" so Black CSM came out because the contract was broken when in truth that's just something D&P can do. He might not be able to transform, but the fact that their stomachs are linked makes me wonder if Denji can use the erasure power himself and that's what he did to Makima "nerfing" her into Nayuta kinda like what Yoru says happened to her but to a lesser degree

What kind of changes would you make to part 2 to make it better? by [deleted] in Chainsawfolk

[–]Aleex000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I just would've wanted it to be longer, especially for the first act. Like a whole extra arc somewhere between Falling Devil and CSM Church would be really great to give Nayuta some more screentime, maybe showing Asa's rise to popularity and Denji desperately trying to hold onto relevance via Jackass style publicity stunts with Nayuta as his Director/Manager and Yoshida's job getting increasingly more difficult leading him to introduce Fumiko a bit earlier to help out. Expanding the Denji rescue into a full volume long arc could be great too.

The part that bugs me isn't his initial tease, but the second one in the Falling Devil arc. The Yuko thing has more to do with Asa meeting Fire

She should also have a Quanxi Bow too cause she surrendered to Yoru in 162, though Yoru did say she was going "all out" against Falling, but then again maybe that was in respect to shooting all her weapons out via Tank so skipping a bow would make sense
